@CA_EDD@CA_EDD how do I get in touch with you? I missed a call from PFL today but they provided no call back number. Whenever I call the 800 number I get hung up on because the "maximum number of callers have been reached". I do not know how to return your call.

Our new study is out! We took my previous research in @EnvSciTech--which found that gas stoves leak even when off--one step further. We found that these leaks contain benzene and can result in increased benzene concentrations indoors, in some cases comparable to secondhand smoke.
In California, 11.5 million households use natural gas. Our new study in @ACSPublications finds that just having a gas stove can lead to indoor benzene concentrations comparable to secondhand smoke. 🧵https://t.co/OR9qT6Fdi6 #gasleak
Missed opportunities from @CBSMornings@benstracy today. So what if *one* chef says he will close his restaurant if he has to go electric. I'm with the legend herself @GayleKing who said she "cares more about the planet" [than squabbling over if chefs can cook w/ electric]. 🧵
This morning, @CBSMornings ran a story on gas stoves to 2.5 million viewers.
Did they mention gas stoves increase the risk of asthma? No.
Did they question a gas industry rep who claimed gas is "clean and safe"? No.
Instead they spread fossil fuel industry lies.
🧵
Can't see any "legitimate chefs" turning to electric 🤨
C'mon @CBSMornings, I’m a “legitimate chef” and I’m here to say that plenty of chefs love electric induction stoves-it has more power and precision than gas stoves can ever hope to have. Report the facts not propaganda. 🧵
@publicmarisa@KHayhoe We only measured 13/53 cooktops that had an electric oven so hard to make a comparison with the small dataset. Definitely something to look at in the future though! Gas ovens did emit methane particularly when they first turned on and while maintaining temperature...
@PCChemTweets@ProvidenceCol@PC_Alumni @PC_Perspectives Thank you! Thanks to Zoom, I was able to record it and put it on youtube! https://t.co/WRbjDN7w00
@kmanies@JosephTumber @StanfordEarth Thanks Kristen -- all went well! We didn't notice anything like that, but we had limitations of small sample size and lack of data on the old stoves. If you're interested in watching the talk, it is here: https://t.co/WRbjDN7w00

“At the end of the day, a loosening of regulations for methane emissions from oil & gas development will result in an increase in health-damaging VOCs” says @PhySciEng Executive Director Dr. Seth Shonkoff in this article on the EPA pullback of rules controlling #methane emissions
#GoodNewsFriday@RockyMtnInst compared the cost of building an #allelectric single-family home to a home hooked up to the gas system in 7⃣ cities around the U.S., and found that all-electric homes saved 💵 and 📉 carbon pollution in every case.
