@cb_catt At the end of the day farmers are cash grain traders. You’re right, futures carry to july is a better return than interest. Cash pays bills so most definitely basis risk has to be included in the same sentence. History is irrelevant, different macro environment than last year

@cb_catt Did you read reasons listed above? In addition, shrink could amount to 10-15c a bushel, extra trucking and handling, electricity, etc. I’m not saying hedging some 5.00+ CN is irresponsible but as a producer today there’s no way I’m putting all my hedges in the July basket
