Disguised dirty hippie and lousy surfer. Urbanist and fan of the 15 minute neighborhood. I dig micromobility and all progress towards a circular economy.
@carlitelb The topic of conversation in #belmontshore should be WHEN we close 2nd st. to private cars, period. Sadly, revenue from liquor and low-tier dining > resident and visitor safety and quality of life
Please support the C line extension to Redondo Beach and Torrance! Residents support the project, but a loud minority wants Metro to not build it or choose an expensive alternative alignment. Extending to Torrance is the first step in going to Long Beach!

@jake_gotta Temporarily, I have a 30 minute car commute to work. This is the first time I’ve done something like this, in 23 years. Car dependency is such absolute shit—from being bad for people’s health, to destroying the environment, to being a financial waste—legitimately sickening.
@jake_gotta It is absurd how many US Politicos, of all levels, are spending their time on social media and acting as nothing more than PR pawns for either their own self-interests or those of their sponsors. We get what we deserve.
@tomflood1 As a native of LA I always thought it was LA—I had accepted it. But after spending time working in TX I’ve discovered that I am absolutely wrong.
@JonathanNyp @philritz1 And insurance companies (earnings), first responders (car crashes are good biz for them), banks (loan on $$$ > loan on $), and petro-chem (earnings), politicos (street and hwy construction co’s campaign donations)
@RobertGarcia End paint as infrastructure and require that fed funds be used for safe bike and ped paths/ways. And, trains. Just look at the state of air travel (SWA these days?) Visit Asia and Europe, ride trains, and come spread the policy and tech.
@DragxnsSunnyDay @LLAG@BikeCuriousLive That car choice is beyond reasonable. But come to Southern California where the sun shines 90% of the year, it’s flat, and the cars; roads; and people keep bloating and please help me understand the self-absorbed and dangerous behavior of car brains.
@MNJolleyWriting@BernieBroStar@jake_gotta Pretty much yes. What level of skill do you want and how much adherence to the rules of the sky do you expect from an airline pilot?
@jake_gotta Yes, yes, yes. Seems like @LongBeachCity has 0 enforcement of simple traffic violations, both moving (speeding everywhere) and non-moving (no front plates revenue???). If the cops will not do it, let’s let the robots.
