A) fastest way to be safe, run through the bag into the OF & break down 3 steps beyond 1B

B) coaches teach team to run over defenders to avoid injury. FIELDER’s job to avoid contact NOT the runner’s.

C) Vargas is a natural 2B not 1B

@CarmichaelDave You’re moving the 1B further inside essentially eliminating ability to swipe tag errant throws on bang-bang plays. Hell of a lot more of those outs than there are collisions since increased base size. Not willing to trade that play for avoidable collisions.
