Flying today. First plane (@United) had @Starlink WiFi and over 350 Mbps. Second plane (@FlyANA_official ) does not and speed is 2-4Mbps. CLEAR winner for inflight connectivity.
Isn’t this a false comparison? Human wetware processing and silicon-based processing work vastly differently additionally two different visual angles is not the same thing as indifferent types of processing inputs. Tesla uses multiple camera data to process decisions currently. Each showing a cohesive reality. Different tech producing different reality truths is what causes lag which in turn is a safety issue. There is no path forward that compromises safety.
@farzyness@elonmusk Add Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom by Cory Doctorow to your reading list. Addresses the ideas of a post scarcity world in a reputation based economy. And of course it’s an entertaining story as well.
AI’s the kind of tech that could democratize tools, knowledge, and productivity like never before, letting regular folks build stuff, learn faster, and compete on a level closer to the big players.
Pausing the infrastructure feels like slamming the brakes right when everyday people are starting to get access to powerful models and apps.
His worries about energy, water, and jobs aren’t pulled from thin air data centers do guzzle resources and bills are spiking in some spots but a full moratorium risks letting China and the rest of the world lap us while we debate.
Typical central planning mentality from Bernie.
I will be pushing for a moratorium on the construction of data centers that are powering the unregulated sprint to develop & deploy AI.
The moratorium will give democracy a chance to catch up, and ensure that the benefits of technology work for all of us, not just the 1%.
To the three folks that see this (pls share!) I’m running a sale on originals. Trying to get them all sold before I’m too pregnant to pack and ship them ❤️

Pretty sure Steve would say this design language on this phone forgoes the aesthetic for function. Something he called out Microsoft on decades ago. Do better.
FOUR different height tiers on the back of the phone is terrible. This isn’t a cake, it is supposed to be the best smart phone in the world but it is full of compromises.
Andy Warhol in 1985: "I think that after graffiti art, [computers will play a larger and larger role in art]. When the machine comes out fast enough. It will probably take over from the graffiti kids."
