@sashachapin It becomes the main thing you do. Other interests still exist but are by definition no longer top priority. The thing that's uncomfortable to discuss is that trade off. You can feel the sacrifice. It's "worth it" but sometimes just barely.
Jess just said we're making a movie this summer so all I need is a cast and locations and costumes and props and a script and a story and an idea so we're pretty much almost done....
@visakanv Reminds me of John Danaher’s insistence on calling BJJ techniques “strangles” instead of the (much) more common “choke“ (it’s called a Rear Naked Choke so often it’s abbreviated RNC).
He’s pedantic in the best way :)
@siracusa@atpfm Great news! I’d love to see a side by side of the photo of you wearing the original green chicken hat with you wearing the ATP version from the same angle.
Anybody else constantly creating accidental bookmarks in the iOS 16 Books app? Every time I try to scroll, it registers as a double tap and flashes a huge red BOOKMARK CREATED icon.
Somebody tell me who the design DRI for iOS Books is - we need to have a conversation.
@nickcammarata This is a helpful framing - I’ve had success conceiving of tanha less as “me grabbing onto a through” and more “the thought sticking to me”.
@vgr Student film with mediocre post-production in 2004. Redigitized the footage in 2012 and completely re-edited with much improved ~everything~ (sound, color, vfx) thanks to far better technology and several years of experience. Finishing it relieved years of psychic weight.
Spent a feverish sick day watching Only Connect reruns, so overnight my dreams were set in Cardiff and narrated by @VictoriaCoren.
9/10 would Eye of Horus again.
"but i'm not doing anything wrong? in fact i am trying to do less wrong?"
being less wrong can be a punishable offence in spaces where people bond over their collective wrongness
