Shifting over to 🟦☁️ properly. I already had an account but after recent events it's hard to justify being here. I'll check in every now and then but if mutuals want to connect on the other platform, below is my info.
*Would do it again?*
I am doing it again actually (3 online, 3 in person). Do I recommend it? Not really, it's truly a tiring experience. I know there's more for me to learn, and next year I hope l'm settled in one spot and don't have to travel so much (and do research again!) 🧵
Hi, briefly back on here to share a reflection of this semester. I made the crazy choice of adjuncting five classes (3 in person, 2 online) at three colleges in two states this semester while doing my dissertation.
Here's my experience🧵
*Travel sucks*
My commute was 60-70 minutes, each way. Four times a week; I started to go stir crazy in the car too. Eventually I got into podcasts, something I didn't realize needed until I found myself in the car for way too long.
Realizing I have less than a week to get ICA submissions together while juggling the chaos of teaching so much has certainly been a test of my time management.
It should be noted that I am an alum of UCNJ (Class of 2017), and I'm really happy I can give back to the institution that started my academic career and interest in mass communications!
It's going to be a busy semester, as I'm now an adjunct at Gwynedd Mercy University and Union College of New Jersey! I'm looking forward to teaching a broader variety of communication classes and gain more experience in the classroom!
