Tesla FSD subscriptions went up 56% in Q2 2026 to 1.48 million, an increase of 200,000 from Q1 2026.
Tesla added more FSD subscribers in Q2 than in any quarter in its history.

let's see how big these fleets are
They taped maps in our hallways telling girls where else to go. We were expected to perform humiliation rituals so the adults wouldn’t have to make a decision. Then they hired lawyers to make our case disappear.
Yesterday, I decided to once again confront my school board.
J.K. Rowling: “It’s impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you failed by default”
Interesting.
“Tesla appears to be preparing the app to support Optimus in home environments. A dedicated screen will ask for consent to collect video and spatial data while the robot operates in your house — mirroring how FSD uses shadow data from customer cars to train the neural net.”
Later this afternoon, @Tesla will release its Q2 earnings and hold an earnings “call” which anyone may listen to. @elonmusk will probably participate on that call and share what he truly believes about Tesla’s progress and prospects to the extent that it’s prudent to do so. I will *greatly appreciate* that, no matter what he says, or what his in-the-moment tone or mood seems to be. Thanks to everyone at Tesla for all of your extraordinary efforts to make a brighter future for us all, and thank you, Elon.
If you think scaling autonomous driving around the world is going to be easy, or some kind of get rich quick scheme, I've got bad news for you.
This is the hardest problem humans have ever attempted. There will be setbacks. Not every deadline will be hit. There are major risks, and success is not guaranteed at all. The industry is littered with the graves of companies like Cruise that tried and failed.
There will be mistakes. There will be accidents. There will be injuries and deaths. No part of this will be easy.
But someone has to do it. Someone has to get this technology out to the people who need it to save their lives. Someone has to get it out for the sake of economic growth, and convenience, and to accelerate electrification.
I know this won't be easy. I know success isn't guaranteed. But this is the future I want to see, and I'll do everything I can to spread the world and help make it a reality.
