John Cleese, 86, is being targeted by activist group Deenified as he tours England with his Holy Grail stage show. The group has accused him on X of "using your platform to attack Islam" and "spreading dangerous misinformation," with one activist calling free speech "a convenient shield for anti-Muslim hostility."
Cleese rejects the Islamophobe label entirely, calling himself "Islamosceptic," and has pointed out nobody ever called him "Christophobic" after Life of Brian. Islamic outlet 5Pillars has gone further still, explicitly demanding he be de-platformed.
Rupert Lowe has already called this what it is: a pressure group trying to bully an 86-year-old man into silence over jokes and honest opinions. He's right, and he's right to tell Restore Britain to back Cleese publicly.
These people don't want dialogue. They want submission. Every time someone caves to this kind of pressure, it teaches them the tactic works, and they come back harder next time for the next target. Cleese is refusing to bow, and every single person who values the right to criticise a religion without getting hounded for it should be standing directly behind him.
Protect @JohnCleese, at all costs.

#Bangladesh's influential Islamist coalition has demanded the abolition of a government Women's Commission, a further indication of how hardline, religiously fuelled activism is strengthening after years of suppression.

BREAKING: UK judge just blocked the release of court transcripts from the Keighley grooming gang trial — claiming it’s “contrary to the public interest.”
Let that sink in. Not contrary to the interests of the rapists. Not to avoid political humiliation. No — the public’s interest.
Campaigners scraped together £100,000 to uncover the truth about what was done to that girl — and the court’s answer? Silence. Censorship. Protection of the system.
This week, MP Katie Lam quoted from the very transcripts that weren’t public until activists forced them into daylight. Meanwhile, Labour’s Jess Phillips had the audacity to say no national inquiry is needed — because “this is already public.”
This isn’t justice. This is a cover-up.
A system that fights harder to protect itself than the victims it failed is rotten to the core.
So ask yourself: who are they really protecting?
Because it sure as hell isn’t the children.
