The Government of Canada is assessing the latest tariff measures from the United States.
As has been the case for the last 18 months, our first priority remains on protecting and supporting Canadian workers, farmers, families, and businesses from these unjustified actions.
Our core focus is on what we can control: building strength at home, diversifying our partnerships abroad, and building Canada strong for all Canadians.
I am in contact with Ambassador Greer. When the US is ready to engage, our government will work in good faith and constructively towards a more secure mutually beneficial trading relationship that fully respects Canadian sovereignty.
U.S. trade actions are unjustified and self defeating. They will hurt both nations by increasing prices in America.
But Canada is strong, the Canadian economy is strong, and Canadians have each others' backs. 🍁
Violence against women remains one of the most pervasive human rights violations in the world. Preventing it, responding to it, and addressing its root causes requires sustained commitment at every level.
Today, @RechieValdez and I announced that Canada has ratified the Inter-American Convention on the Prevention, Punishment and Eradication of Violence against Women (Belém do Pará Convention) — the first international treaty dedicated to addressing violence against women. This important step reinforces Canada’s commitment to advancing human rights and building a future where women, girls, and gender-diverse people can live free from violence and participate fully in society.
Michael Ma joined a pragmatic team that wants to build Canada strong.
I’d encourage the Leader of the Opposition to reflect over the holidays on how his actions in the past week might have led to this.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Greg, you can never talk about the “dignity of the house” after your disastrous tenure as Speaker.
Asking Carney about his Brookfield conflicts of interest is absolutely appropriate, especially since he brags about using his influence to advance Brookfield’s interests.
Wherein the man-who-wishes-to-be-PM:
- Confuses GDP with wealth;
- Confuses one year with five;
- Confuses a statement of fact with a contract term; and
- Shows that he doesn't know what an investment is.
This is either absurdly cynical or terrifyingly economically illiterate.
A third straight election in 2025 without party status might have been the death knell for the OLP. Crombie deserves a ton of credit for bringing them back from the brink (with a 30% vote base to build off).
@mferreriptbokaw@CTVNews If you actually saw the issue as anything more than your opportunity for a political spin you’d be spending your new-found free time on the prevention and support efforts indicated by the organization. Pretty clear where your priorities lie- always has been.
This confirms what we’ve been saying all along: The Province needs to properly fund the justice system — because that’s their responsibility.
Without that, tougher federal laws won’t mean much. It’s time for the Province to step up and do their part to keep our communities safe.
@MarcNixon24@Sunocoz@BarbaraBalCPC Officially you don’t know what you’re talking about, but I’m sure the neighbouring riding could use the support of your Twitter troops
An early Ontario election is all but confirmed at this point. I am ready to take down the Conservative seat here in #Nepean and finally bring a strong voice for our community to Queen’s Park.

On this solemn evening, we gathered on Mount Royal to honour the 14 women of École Polytechnique who lost their lives simply because they were women.
We will never forget them.
Our fight against gender-based violence continues.
This is a maddening story. Police are trained in using deadly force. When officers, past or present are flagged in domestic violence cases the cases should be taken more seriously. An officer’s duty is to protect the public not the badge. https://t.co/TWxdFCtNC8
