I'm learning the decades-long message that "we must sacrifice our lifestyle to save the planet" is wrong:
- EV's are better
- walkable cities with clean air are better
- induction cooking & heat pumps are better
What needs to be done is not sacrifice - it's advancement

Looks like NDP candidate Blake Desjarlais is officially projected to win Edmonton-Greisbach.

Desjarlais will be the first openly Two-Spirit MP in Canadian parliament, which is HUGE #Elxn44

[Blake Desjarlais @DesjarlaisBlake]

It’s Election Day!

Let’s bring this home, #EdmontonGriesbach. #cdnpoli #Elxn44

This is 1/2 of the happy face of a nurse who is very pleased to be vaccinated! 1 down; 1 to go. Having nursed through the devastation this virus causes for some of our most frail and vulnerable in long-term care, I hope you all happily get vaccinated too when you have the chance!

Perfectly articulated by @hakique and @ehyshka

[Hakique Virani🟠 @hakique]

Public health - not politicians - should be in charge. Not just because public health knows how to prevent infection spread. But because of their ability to weigh multiple impacts (including economic ones) on population wellbeing. From today's Hill Times piece:

[Hakique Virani🟠 @hakique]

Why do some Canadian provinces have among the most ineffective pandemic responses in the world? Why do we keep failing in public health crises?

@ehyshka and I wrote about the systemic lack of public health independence and how to right the ship mid-pandemic.

"Albertans should brace themselves because they’re in for a world of hurt in the coming weeks."

Ouch. 🤬 and 💔 at the same time.

I know scoot season is over but.. a good reminder!

[Team Servicerottie🇨🇦🐕‍🦺🦽 @servicerotties]

Hey #Edmonton peoples. I need your help! I can pick up my leash, or a set of keys, or even a credit card if it gets dropped on the floor.
But I can't pick up a @limebike #escooter & move it for our wheelchair to get by. Please don't block the sidewalk.

[Dr. Erin Faught (she/her) @erinfaught]

@TheEcliptica Yes! After a day. I hope this means the backlash is causing them to rethink this approach and not that the time period for the survey is this irresponsibly short..

[Dr. Erin Faught (she/her) @erinfaught]

This survey is embarrassing but Edmontonians, Inuit/Indigenous people have long made clear that this team name is offensive and unacceptable. What else matters? Respond to this survey and let the CFL know that the team needs to be renamed or they will not be supported.

[Dr. Erin Faught (she/her) @erinfaught]

@TheMirandaJimmy @newmusicmichael @EdmontonEsks @abacusdataca @CFL Agreed and love your approach, Miranda!! Evaluation specialist here with doctoral-level expertise in population-based survey design and analysis. Would be happy to consult on unbiased survey design. @cfrac_yeg would be even better.
