If your child becomes a reader, about 80% of the educational job is already done. That's our honest assessment, based on many of us working in education for over three decades. Everything else is secondary. Most parents think science education is important. Yes, it is. But if you can't read the biology textbook, you're not going to learn biology.
Reading is the meta-skill that enables all other skills. History requires reading. Science requires reading. Even math increasingly requires reading as it becomes more sophisticated. The child who reads voraciously will figure out everything else. The child who doesn't will struggle with everything.
I'm Boris and I created Claude Code. I wanted to quickly share a few tips for using Claude Code, sourced directly from the Claude Code team. The way the team uses Claude is different than how I use it. Remember: there is no one right way to use Claude Code -- everyones' setup is different. You should experiment to see what works for you!
ProPublica examined months of Fox News’ coverage and reviewed over 700 videos posted on social media.
The network used five-year-old footage, mislabeled other dates and implied footage from elsewhere was in Portland.

Pretty crazy sales story.
Last week, a huge fitness influencer reached out to our team to help develop a mobile app they’re looking to launch.
Team was pumped about it. Massive name. Great idea. Clear way for AI to scale a 1:1 experience.
Pitch went well. Influencer said it was between us and another product/engineering partner. That they’d get back to us soon.
24 hours pass and we get a text: “We’re going with the other guys.”
Well, that sucks.
If this was 5 years ago, things would go one of two ways:
1) We’d pester the lead to get them back on the call, information gather and try to see if the door is actually closed.
2) We’d call it closed lost and move on with our lives.
But in an age of AI, things—especially sales—looks completely different.
One of our engineers at @tenex_labs heard that we lost the deal, and took it upon himself to win them back.
Within 12 hours of getting the bad news he:
- Built and deployed a functioning app that could be downloaded and used in TestFlight
- Recorded a loom walking him through the app, and where we could build upon the MVP if we work together
12 hours after that, I get another text from the influencer: “Watching this now. Impressed.”
He proceeds to tell us that the door isn’t closed and he wants to get on another call to see how we can make it work.
We had the call yesterday, and while nothing is signed, things are looking very good.
Absolutely savage move by our engineer, and pretty cool example of speed-to-value in a post-AI world.
Pediatrician here.
If a nice, older kid/teenager comes trick or treating at your place, give them a piece of candy WITHOUT giving them a hard time. In fact, give them 2.
They chose this over other risky activities. Validate that.

Watching Michelle Obama give a speech really is like watching a prodigal athlete who just up and decided they weren’t interested in participating in a commercialized sport. #DemConvention2024
Michelle Obama blasts Trump's "same old con:" Doubling down on "ugly, misogynistic racist lies as a substitute for real ideas and solutions that will actually make peoples' lives better"
The nurse said she needed some urine to test for potassium. "K," I said. Silence. "I bet everyone makes that joke," I say. She's like "In 15 years of nursing not one person has made that joke"
Caitlin Clark was asked if she watched the NBA Finals last night: “I had the women’s college softball World Series on instead… there’s a girl that pitches for Texas who’s a freshman that actually lived a couple streets over from me growing up.”

I'll take this one.
The idea that affirmative action or diversity, equity & inclusion policies equal lower standards is something that a lot of people believe.
Instead of citing what "I believe" like Elon did, let's use facts & a something I like to called "math"
A thread.
This is amazing.
Patients entered their symptoms into ChatGPT and it correctly diagnosed them after they were incorrectly diagnosed by professional doctors. 🤯

@lyzl When is our government going to step up and regulate @AppleSupport's ridiculous anti-competitive iMessage monopoly? At least the EU is taking action. Adults make jokes but children are bullied over this. Start working for us, FTC!
