Creighton at Tech means the future knows no bounds — from Lubbock to London, San Angelo to Singapore, we’re just getting started! His vision leading Senate Ed & Higher Ed has already set the pace for the nation, with countless other states following Texas’ lead. As a professor’s child, I can’t wait to see this guy on campus — changing lives for the next generation.#txlege @TTUSystem
I am honored the @TTUSystem Regents have expressed confidence in me and I’m excited about the future of the Texas Tech University System. Texas Tech is the tip of the spear for the future of higher education—leading in academics, athletics, and innovation. The world will continue to see the groundbreaking solutions and unmatched potential coming from this system.
Over the past six years, no university system in Texas has taken more bold steps forward. Serving as Chairman of the Senate Education Committee and the Budget Subcommittee has been the honor of a lifetime—especially to help deliver that success for Texas Tech and its regional universities. I feel very blessed to have been considered for the role of Chancellor. There is no greater purpose I would consider than working to make generational changes that transform the lives of young Texans for decades to come. Chancellor Tedd Mitchell has been an outstanding leader for the system for many years and I look forward to carrying his legacy forward. @TexasTech@AngeloState@MSUTexas@TTUHSC@TTHealthElPaso
I think gambling is a scourge on this nation and I’m grateful I quit gambling 12 years ago.
That said, we’ve totally normalized gambling now. ESPN has betting experts on. Pro leagues have gaming company sponsors. Etc.
I don’t wanna see some kid’s career ruined bc he got caught up on it, esp when he never threw games.
Gimme a break. He’s not only college player gambling.
New: A temporary injunction against the NCAA has been issued this morning by a Lubbock County district court judge in the Brendan Sorsby case.
It orders Sorsby be reinstated for the 2026 college football season.
“The university appears to be taking a page out of Texas public institutions’ playbook by pre-emptively overcomplying with new state law, experts say.”
Texas led the nation on higher education reform because students deserve degrees of value, taxpayers deserve accountability, and faculty deserve clear expectations. As the author of SB 37 and now Chancellor of Texas Tech University System, I see first hand that academic integrity, strong governance, and rigor go hand in hand. Our world-class faculty and students demonstrate that accountability is critical for excellence—not counter to it. It is great to see other states following Texas' lead. @TTUSystem #txlege #txed

“Do you think Texans will get the opportunity to meet the woman James Talarico says is his longtime girlfriend during this campaign?” asks @MarkHalperin. Deirdre Delisi, a Texas GOP strategist, thinks not. “That was incredibly weird,” she says. “I don’t understand why he’s hiding his girlfriend, but I’m going to go with a ‘no’ on that. I don’t know her.” @jamestalarico@ddelisi@LarryOConnor@KevinPWalling@2waytvapp
90% of Olivia and Liam moms told their friends ‘we want a more unique name’.
And can we also pour one out for the Sophia/ Sofia parents who tell themselves they didn’t just make their daughters the Jennifer & Jessica’s of their generation…. (Coming from an Erin… you never meet an Erin not born btwn 82-87)
For the seventh year in a row, Olivia and Liam are officially the United States' most popular baby names, according to new data released Friday by the Social Security Administration.
The annual list, compiled from Social Security card applications submitted at birth, offers a snapshot of the names parents across the country chose most often in 2025.

Honored to take part in today’s Governor for a Day ceremony, celebrating my friend and West Texas Senator @electcharles as he was recognized with this distinction.
It was a truly historic moment watching the original @GovernorPerry administer the oath of office to our newest Governor Perry. Turns out, one just wasn’t enough.
Charles has been a close friend and trusted colleague over the years. From my first term in the Texas House to today, I’ve seen firsthand his commitment to service and his tireless advocacy for our community, rural Texas, and the continued growth and prosperity of our state.
Thank you to our host, Texas Tech Chancellor @CreightonForTX, Governor Rick Perry, and everyone who helped make this a memorable day for our state—and especially for West Texas.
And congratulations to Senate President Pro Tempore and Governor for a Day Charles Perry, who I have no doubt will make the most of every remaining minute on the job today.
Congratulations to my friend Senator @electcharles on being our Governor for a day.
Fun Fact: When both the Governor and Lieutenant Governor are out of the state, the Senate President Pro Tempore steps in as Acting Governor for the day.
Leyla and I had a great time joining friends for Governor Charles Perry’s swearing-in and inaugural address. God bless Texas.
"If I have my way only figure this as a one-shot."
@electcharles appears to have made it his mission to make sure the Eastlands do not operate Camp Mystic.
The camp is currently fixing deficiencies in its emergency plan to get a license to reopen this summer.
Millennials are the elite generation because they cranked out 12-page essays the night before they were due. No ChatGPT. No Claude. Just lo-fi beats playing in the background, Black coffee at midnight, footnotes that were somehow correct, and pure delusion. Grade was an A minus. Period.
Today, I met with the Commissioners of @TexasHHSC and @TexasDSHS to discuss Camp Mystic's 2026 camp license. Please watch the video below, and read the compelling testimony in the replies. #txlege
In February, Texas Tech University System Chancellor Brandon Creighton, Texas Tech University President Lawrence Schovanec, Board of Regents Chairman Cody Campbell and Vice Chairman Dustin Womble met with @nvidia leadership to advance a groundbreaking partnership that will bring next-generation accelerated computing infrastructure to Texas Tech.
The collaboration positions Texas Tech at the forefront of artificial intelligence and advanced research through deployment of the NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra (B300) platform—one of the most advanced supercomputing architectures in the world and the only university-owned system in the nation designed specifically for Agentic AI.
The investment will strengthen research, expand industry collaboration, and give Texas Tech students hands-on experience with world-class AI systems—preparing the next generation of innovators while accelerating economic growth and technological leadership for Texas. @TexasTech@nvidia

Ryder’s passing has hit especially close to home for our Team Burrows family. Ryder was the brother-in-law of one of our own, and our hearts are aching alongside his loved ones.
From all accounts, Ryder was exactly the kind of young man who made a difference without even trying—full of life, loyal to his friends, proud to be a Red Raider and a Texan, and someone who showed up for the people around him.
Elisabeth and I are praying for Avery and Ryan, the entire Harrington family, and everyone who loved Ryder—the number appears to be countless. We ask that you lift them up as well.
