“Our members are tired of waking up and wondering whether government is going to shut them down”
That’s the uncertainty this NDP government has created across our economy, and it has to change.
The death of a thousand cuts, brought on by this NDP government, is killing our small businesses.
BC doesn’t feel like a place where you can start a business, grow a business, and get ahead.
I talked to @cfax1070 about the youth jobs crisis and how to turn it around.

Great to start the day by welcoming the @ECA_BC to Kelowna for their annual conference and AGM, thank them for all they do to build BC, and encourage them to visit our local wineries while they’re in town!
Parents deserve to have confidence that their kids are safe at school.
I spoke with @AM1150 about the recent attack at Springvalley Middle School - and the concerning lack of progress on school safety since the tragedy at Tumbler Ridge.

Congratulations to our new @Conservative_BC leader @KerryLynneFindl.
The real fight begins today.
The real opponent is the NDP government that is failing BC.
Together we will defeat them and form a new and better government for the people of British Columbia.
The Regional District of East Kootenay has issued an Evacuation Alert for the Fairmont Creek area of Electoral Area F due to the risk of debris flow and flooding. Anyone in the impacted area must be ready to leave on short notice.

Working with @PeterMilobar over the last 5 months has been one of the most rewarding political experiences of my life.
Integrity, smarts, vision, empathy and a great sense of humour are strong assets in politics and Peter has them all. We’d be lucky to call him our Premier ❤️
In Budget Estimates today, the Premier falsely claimed the NDP cut B.C.’s small business tax rate by 25%.
They didn’t.
They cut it from 2.5% to 2.0%, nine years ago.
That’s 20%, not 25%. The Premier is wrong on basic math.
And one line item is not the whole tax story. The aggregate tax burden has gone way up under this government.
Economic literacy matters.
If you want to repeal DRIPA, grow our economy, get our kids learning again, and bring Conservative ideas back to BC, we need to be electable — and we need to win.
I’m 8-0 in elections. I have a seat, and I’m in the fight every single day. If you want a candidate who can win and help form government, vote for me right now.
Voting closes soon: https://t.co/OckNh3FEm3

Yesterday, the Legislature voted on my motion to give MLAs basic training in economics, public finance, and numeracy.
The NDP amended it to dilute the economic focus and gave speeches about wedge politics instead, so Conservatives voted against their amended version.
It still passed.
At a time of weak confidence, job losses, and economic uncertainty, it should not be controversial or divisive to ask elected officials to better understand taxes, spending, debt, regulation, and incentives.
British Columbians deserve a serious, grown-up government that’s focused on fundamentals.
The @Conservative_BC leadership race is a family tug-of-war, not a civil war.
The minute our new leader is announced, we are all on the same page.
The real contest is not between leadership candidates.
It is between an NDP government that has lost control of the basics and a Conservative team ready to restore competence, confidence, and common sense in British Columbia.

Today, I was asked to leave the chamber after calling out the Premier for remarks I believe were false and misleading regarding my record and the record of members of our caucus on LNG development in Northern B.C.
For years, the Premier has attempted to claim that we do not support projects like LNG Canada, while at the same time trying to take credit for a project he actively opposed while in opposition. The people of the North remember who stood alongside our workers, local governments, Indigenous partners, and communities to fight for these opportunities when it mattered most.
I am proud of my record. As a Kitimat city councillor, I worked hard alongside many others to help get Phase 1 of LNG Canada to final investment decision. That project has created jobs, opportunity, and long-term economic benefits for our region and for British Columbia. The credit belongs to the many people who put in the hard work over many years to make it happen.
I will not sit quietly while the history of that work is rewritten for political convenience.
When the people of Skeena elected me, I promised to be a loud, strong, and unapologetic voice for our communities. That means standing up for our workers, our industries, and the truth, even when it is uncomfortable.
I will continue to do exactly that every single day, unapologetically.
With 9 MLA caucus endorsements, 2 Conservative MPs, and support from 9 former MLAs, we lead all candidates in backing from Conservative MLAs.
Members and leaders across BC are uniting behind a leader who is ready on day one, proven in the Legislature, and focused on defeating the NDP and delivering real change.
Time is running out to get verified to vote—deadline is 11:59pm PDT tomorrow: https://t.co/3XEFNYmIUU

B.C. Conservative leadership candidate @PeterMilobar questions how a new leader could realistically enter the legislature and ask five MLAs to resign a seat for OneBC.
"I haven't heard that answered in this whole campaign, and it does matter," he said.
The NDP are going to try the same old tricks again, and we can’t wait for the next leader to force one of our own caucus members to resign just to hold them to account.
I have a seat, and I’m ready to lead on day one — to take down this NDP government and win back BC.

At almost 4AM on Thursday, the NDP pushed through legislation that guts Freedom of Information.
I reminded them they were tearing up the legacy of NDP Premier Mike Harcourt.
