@charcua2school @hannahstromberg When I bring up to my students that cuz is not the proper usage of because they get frustrated at me for asking them to correct the spelling and grammar. When I try to tell them why proper grammar and English is so important when writing I get blank stares back. #EDU6333

@ChristophDeJean @RI_Teacher You would think common sense would be enough. My school just had to deal with a teacher in my department who was sending "inappropriate" letters to one of his sophomore students. Teachers should only be allowed to contact students for school purposes. #EDU6333

@hannahstromberg @RI_Teacher I have had students do searchers on me online. One said he was surprised to see me having a vimeo account and was asking what I was using it for. I told him it was for a previous class in this program. I got the impression that he wanted to share strategies on using it. #EDU6333

@hannahstromberg I agree that SM is creating bad grammar and spelling habits for kids and they don't understand the difference and importance between formal writing and writing and grammar used with friends. #EDU6333

@hannahstromberg I have had students read an article on social media and think that it was the absolute truth because it was on the internet. Heck, even established media outlets like CNN can't get their fact straight lately, compounding the issue of who and what you can trust online. #EDU6333
