I had the chance to work with @jovica in a team, where we always strived for the simplest solution that could work.
Striving for this simplicity enabled us to deliver several high performance solutions at great scale.
Trust him on less is more with your solutions too.
Complexity Is the enemy of security. The more complex a system gets, the harder it is to secure.
Less is more.
Weniger Ist Mehr.

#Vale, the “syntax-aware linter for prose built with speed and extensibility in mind”, is now available in #Gentoo GURU \o/
This marks my first contribution to GURU, and I look forward moving further packages from my overlay.

The same poll on LinkedIn had quite low engagement too, but on Mastodon it got lot more activity despite the lowest amount of followers. Out of 19 votes total, the results are 8, 3, 3, 5 in the order of options. That sounds like useful weights to work with, thanks for voting!
I started to review the blog post requests, drafts, and ideas accumulated over time. Most topics revolve around #rex, #perl, #opensource, #gentoo, #cicd, #git, #testing, and #CLI — with some overlap.
Help me decide: which topic shall I focus on first?
p.s.: comment to add more!
I proxy maintain #xsel to bring improvements to #Gentoo users despite no release since 2008.
Thanks to support from soap, upstream merged all ebuild patches, tagged 1.2.1, and we already ship the new version — among first distros, according to repology.

#Vale describes itself as a “syntax-aware #linter for prose built with speed and extensibility in mind”. My overlay has the latest v2.24.4 release available for fellow #Gentoo users.
I recommend previous users to continue reading about ebuild changes: https://t.co/BAEHlI7CYr
@NataliePis@GDGBerlinGo Sure, I'm happy to share my experience as an "indie" downstream package maintainer if that is interesting for an upcoming event!
People who package Go software for #Gentoo probably noticed the deprecation of EGO_SUM in favor of dependency tarballs.
As an external Gentoo contributor, like overlay/proxied #maintainer or GURU contributor, GitHub releases are one way to host these:

I decided to revive my old blog at a new home, which better accommodates for my preferred authoring workflow, and could serve as a canonical source for the content I produce.
Here's a short announcement to kick things off, and start gathering feedback: https://t.co/sMxjRQZBBY
vale-2.24.3 is fixing a crash bug, and available for fellow #Gentoo users in my overlay:

xsel is a CLI tool to "manipulate the X selection". The last release was in 2008, but there are several upstream changes since then.
I stepped up as proxied maintainer today, and the latest version is already available for fellow #Gentoo users in the main repository.
I am now a GURU contributor \o/
GURU is an official package repository collaboratively maintained by #Gentoo users: https://t.co/KokNKZKbPb

@narwhalds A combination of a good place for focused work (safe, comfortable, with trustable connectivity, and low amount of distraction), plus something reasonably different than being at home (I prefer being near to sea, sunshine, palm trees, local gastronomy, and friendly locals).
#actionlint is a static checker for #GitHub Actions workflow files.
actionlint-1.6.24 has been released today, and it is already available for fellow #Gentoo users in my overlay at:
