Sure thing, it's difficult to get rid of all dependencies at once. It even doesn't make sense. After all it is a matter of evaluating risks and costs.
If you need a hand with such evaluation, especially for data-related services, or doing the migration – we are here for you.
You would like to reduce the dependency on US-based companies, especially big techs, but you think it's impossible?
"But how can I get the information about our users' behaviour without Google Analytics?"
🧵
"But we are using BigQuery / Snowflake, migration would take ages and cost a lot!" What if we told you that there are comparable, if not better alternatives and very likely you would offset the migration costs with future saving on the cloud bill?
Think about it when you hear or use the phrase the next time.
Or, perhaps, "democratisation of data" is just another buzzword with no meaning, and has nothing to do with "democracy"?
"Democratisation of data" - chances are you have heard this phrase already.
What does it actually mean?
Democracy originates from ancient Greek δημοκρατία (dēmokratía), from δῆμος (dēmos) - people and κράτος (krátos) - rule, and basically meant "the rule of the people".
🧵
The "democratisation of data" would, obviously, be a process of making such "data democracy".
It would mean that everyone is in charge of data governance and data control. The governance is the κράτος part. Merely giving the access to the data is not yet "democratisation".
The last events triggered discussions about European digital sovereignty. Many started looking for EU-based alternatives for some SaaS they are currently using.
It's not an easy task, so to make it slightly easier for you:

Latvia not only brings digitalisation, but also provides entertainment and networking opportunities. (Have you tried the rhubarb wine?)
We are there today, too - let's talk.

@DB_Bahn Correction: @DB_Bahn actually takes actions. They just cancel some stops without prior notice. But this requires observation, not prediction. https://t.co/fbJPVEr9jC
The role role of #businessintelligence is to provide accurate, reliable and actionable #insights. If the organisation is not able to act on the insights provided then the whole investment in BI is futile.
This must be the case in @DB_Bahn - they very correctly predict that the trains from #Berlin to the sea side in the summer will be fully loaded (it does not take #datascience to predict this), yet they do not seem to take any action on this finding.
