@t1jediabetic Not exactly a devotional but you might appreciate A Rhythm of Prayer with many diverse contributors, edited by @SarahBessey: https://t.co/T9sHBFSKCN
@AngieMaxwell1 So much empathy ๐ A few years ago I heard a shot ring out in our local mall food court right as I stepped off the escalator to meet my husband + 1 year old son for dinner. In a split second I had to choose to turn and run or try to find my family. Worst feeling in the world.
@jclreads Still can't believe I married a guy who doesn't appreciate When Harry Met Sally. Top 5 for me. I need to re-watch a lot of these to make a fair call, but I loved You've Got Mail and Crazy Stupid Love. +Dan in Real Life? And the Big Sick is the only contender from recent years!
@KaitlynSchiess@SHoddeMiller I was there visiting this morning and really appreciated your message! Thanks for bringing a many-layered word that was challenging and encouraging. Also enjoyed getting to hear a woman preach live as I donโt get to experience that often ๐
โAt church potlucks they play a secret game of dumping random cans of food in casserole dishes and pretending their grandmothers gave them the recipe.โ โNayeri, Everything Sad is Untrue
As a granddaughter of Southerners & attendee of many church potlucks, this is spot on ๐
Without wanting to undermine the struggles of parenthood, which I know are huge, I'm getting a bit anxious with lots of people telling me how hard and difficult being a mother will be. As an antidote: parents of Twitter, what big or small things do you love about having children?
Shoutout to all the parents traveling with young kids who normally have 7:30/8pm bedtimes but are up bawling their eyes out and/or refusing bedtime in a strange environment. CHEERS ๐ฅ and Happy New Year ๐ฅณ

@SarahBessey I will now, thanks! New Jersey is exploding with C*VID cases, we found out we were all exposed at a gathering with our kids last weekend. PCR tested our family today & most holiday plans are now cancelled. Good thing Iโd already lowered expectations to avoid disappointment ๐๐ป๐คช
@taylorsschumann The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab is the most engrossing fiction I've read all year. Didn't listen to it, but it has a 4.6 average rating out of 21,045 ratings on Audible!
@lorewilbert Abbaโs Child by Brennan Manning. Read it in my early twenties (at my adoptive fatherโs recommendation) and it really started rearranging the way I viewed God as Father, grace, and introduced me to the language of having a โshadow side.โ I need to read more Manning!
@taylorsschumann What came to mind was Jill Phillips' song from the 90's, I Am. Still so good.
"Oh gently lay your head upon my chest
And I will comfort you like a mother while you rest
The tide can change so fast, but I will stay
The same through past, the same in future, same today..."
@taylorsschumann V-Tech Go Go Smart Wheels train set if you donโt mind singing/noisy toys ๐ฌ My nearly 4 yo got his a little after turning 2 and he still plays with it all the time (often independently once mom or dad has helped set the track up). You can add more pieces/trains as needed too ๐๐ป
