🚶 BENGALURU'S FOOTPATHS ARE GETTING THEIR SPACE BACK
From July 1–10, the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is running a 'Safe Footpath Campaign' across 1,000 km of road network — clearing encroachments from footpaths in all five city corporations.
📊 WHY THIS MATTERS
30% of every 1,000 road accident deaths in Bengaluru are pedestrians. The Supreme Court has been clear: walking on a footpath safely is a fundamental right, not a privilege.
🚫 WHAT'S BEING CLEARED
➡Illegal parking on footpaths (vehicles will be towed)
➡Name boards, chairs, tables, and kiosks blocking pedestrian paths
➡Vendors and shops spilling onto walkways
✅ HOW IT'S BEING DONE
➡Notices will be issued before any action — not a sudden crackdown
➡Action will follow the Street Vendors' Protection Act and SC guidelines
➡Municipal officers, police, and clearance teams will coordinate
➡Damaged slabs and kerbs will be repaired alongside clearance
It follows the #1KmChallenge encouraging people to walk short distances instead of driving — Bengaluru is trying to become more walkable, one footpath at a time.
🗣️ WE NEED YOUR EYES ON THE GROUND
Let's make Bengaluru's footpaths walkable again — together.

@kiranshaw@NHAI_Official Please look into the space below metro stations in hosur road. They are used as parking space by unauthorised vehicles as well as maintained badly with lots of garbage and dust.
Great visit yesterday from the@verticalavi leadership team! 🤝
We enjoyed hosting CEO Francois Lassale and EVP Cade Clark at HQ for an inside look at Gen 6 and our Autonomy Lab. We value VAI’s advocacy as we work to certify and scale autonomous flight.

Scott Adams, the creator of Dilbert, died on January 13, 2026, aged 68, after complications from advanced prostate cancer. His most useful contribution to personal finance may be this:
Serious Financial Advice from a Comic Strip Creator
Scott Adams’ 87-word “book” contains more wisdom than most finance shelves
Scott Adams draws Dilbert. That alone makes him useful. The strip teaches you what corporate life does to human beings.
He’s also written some of the best personal finance advice I’ve seen.
He calls it Everything You Need to Know About Financial Planning.
It’s 87 words long.
Here’s the whole thing:
• Make a will.
• Pay off your credit cards.
• Buy term life insurance if you have a family to support.
• Max out your 401(k).
• Max out your IRA.
• Buy a house if you want one and can afford it.
• Keep six months’ expenses in a money market fund.
• Put the rest: 70% in a stock index fund, 30% in a bond fund. Use a discount broker. Don’t touch it until retirement.
That’s it. The entire plan.
Adams didn’t land here by accident. He studied economics. He has an MBA. He worked in a bank for eight years.
He considered writing a full personal finance book.
Then he thought it through. He trimmed it. He trimmed it again.
At the end, almost nothing was left.
Which is the point.
Most finance “advice” is packaging. Adams kept only the plumbing.
Now translate his list for India.
Replace 401(k) and IRA with your retirement and tax-saving equivalents: EPF/VPF, PPF, NPS, and the Section 80C bucket. (Back when this was written, you could also add RGESS.)
The principles don’t change. Only the labels do.
The last line is the only one that looks like “investing advice.” Even that is simple:
70% equity.
30% fixed income.
Hold for decades.
In practice, doing a 70/30 split yourself means tracking two funds and rebalancing. That’s work. It can also create avoidable taxes.
India has an easier shortcut.
Balanced advantage / hybrid funds already live near that middle ground. Many sit around the equity-debt mix that gives you “growth with guardrails.”
So the Dilbert Portfolio becomes simple:
Pick two or three good hybrid funds.
Invest steadily.
Stop tinkering.
That’s your strategy. And once it’s set, it stays set.
Adams also understands the finance industry well enough to mock it accurately.
In one old strip, Dogbert explains his mutual fund plan: launch ten funds with random stocks, then advertise the one that “wins” by luck. He calls it becoming the premier provider of imaginary expertise.
Some Indian fund CEOs will recognise the method. Not from theory.
In another strip, Dogbert sits on a business channel. The anchor praises his fund as the decade’s best performer and asks for the secret. Dogbert turns to the reader: the anchor will read anything you hand him.
That’s the real lesson.
Most people don’t need smarter finance. They need less noise.
Scott Adams drew office life into a comic strip.
Then he did the same thing to personal finance: stripped it down until only the truth remained.
@UberIN_Support I booked multiple times for cab and auto. Basically 5 bookings got rejected after asking for additional money. This is expected based on my understanding of your driver's in Chennai location. One of the drivers took extra privilege to scold me back in bad word.hope you can check
