On the evening of May 28th, approximately 100 anti-ICE rioters gathered around the Delaney Hall ICE facility. Rioters bit, kicked, and punched law enforcement officers.
Governor Sherrill refused to allow state police to assist our officers.
Assaulting and obstructing @ICEgov law enforcement is a crime and felony. Throughout the night, nine rioters were arrested. Anyone who assaults law enforcement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Tonight, ICE law enforcement officers were assaulted by anti-ICE rioters who sprayed law enforcement with an unknown chemical substance.
Two individuals were arrested for assaulting, resisting, and impeding federal officers.

On May 13, ICE ERO Newark arrested Nelson Garcia Orellana, a fugitive illegal alien who was ordered removed on April 25, 2019. He is wanted in El Salvador for aggravated kidnapping and is currently in ICE custody awaiting removal.
On May 12, ICE ERO Newark arrested Carlos Gallo Valdivia, a fugitive illegal alien who was ordered removed June 20, 2023. He is wanted in his home country of Peru for offenses against public safety, including endangering the public & possession/carrying of ammunition & weapons.

On May 8, ICE ERO Newark arrested Carlos Mauricio Rivera Alvarado, an illegal alien and MS-13 gang member wanted in El Salvador for serious offenses involving illicit groups allegedly responsible for selling drugs and extortion. He is in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
On May 5, ICE ERO Newark with FBI arrested Angustino Smith, a criminal alien from Jamaica with two prior removals and convictions for robbery, drug offenses, and illegal re-entry. Smith now faces new charges for illegal re-entry.
On May 7, ICE ERO Newark, with CBP, arrested foreign fugitive Joel Cotzomi Mani, an illegal alien wanted for homicide, torture, robbery, and abuse of authority in Mexico, his home country. He was located in Passaic, N.J., and placed in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
On May 5, ICE ERO Newark arrested Jimmy Rivera Arce, a criminal illegal alien from Costa Rica, immediately after his release from state prison. He was serving a 14-yr sentence for convictions related to possessing child sexual exploitation materials & endangering child's welfare.
On May 2, ICE ERO Newark arrested Nelson Rafael Vargas Parra, a criminal alien from the Dominican Republic with a significant criminal history, including a federal conviction for conspiracy to distribute and possess heroin. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal.
Sanctuary policies force ICE to assemble a team and head out into communities to arrest criminal illegal aliens at large — but it doesn’t have to be that difficult.
