- February 22, 2026: Mishra laid the foundation stone for an RCC road from Baba Dayala Chowk to Gali No. 06 in Sadatpur Extension, and another from the main market of Karawal Nagar village to Lal Bagh Mandi (Daily Pioneer).
- Mishra claimed development projects worth over **₹𝟯𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗲** have been initiated in Karawal Nagar over the past year (Daily Pioneer).

🪞 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱
- The Karawal Nagar Road construction between Dayalpur and Karawal Nagar left the road fully closed. Debris was dumped on the road, barricades erected (Jagran).
- Residents protested: "If they wanted to build the road, they should have kept half the road open for traffic. Where are the drivers supposed to go?" (Jagran).
- The PWD itself acknowledged that narrow, encroached roads, roadside parking, and busy markets force buses and e-rickshaws to compete for limited space, causing frequent bottlenecks (Construction World).
- The PWD proposed a 5-km elevated stretch over the Karawal Nagar drain from Ankur Enclave to Gokulpuri Metro station, expected to be completed by **𝟮𝟬𝟯𝟬** (Indian Express).

🚨 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲
- Over **𝟯,𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝗸𝗺** of Delhi roads have been flagged for redevelopment under a **₹𝟳,𝟮𝟬𝟳 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗲** plan (Economic Times).
- PWD has **𝟳𝟴𝟴 𝗸𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟭,𝟰𝟬𝟰 𝗸𝗺** - over 50% - marked for redevelopment (Economic Times).
- Officials admitted work was delayed due to GRAP restrictions and extreme weather, but claimed most projects had now resumed (Economic Times).
- AAP and BJP have traded charges over Karawal Nagar's roads for years. In 2024, BJP released a white paper accusing AAP of neglecting northeast Delhi's roads (Hindustan Times). AAP accused the BJP of obstructing development works in BJP-represented constituencies (The Statesman).

The promise was a road widened to 80 metres. The reality was a road completely shut, a 5-km detour, and residents demanding that half the road be kept open for traffic.
