In a speech delivered by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa at the Tooke Run in Bushenyi, President Museveni said that government initiatives, such as the Presidential Initiative on Banana Industrial Development (PIBID), are meant to educate citizens on nutrition and on how to turn bananas into wealth.

Today, my wife and I paid a courtesy visit to the Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker, Thomas Tayebwa, a humble and truly blessed leader. We are grateful for his invaluable words of wisdom and encouragement on marriage, family, and building a strong home.
And of course, the visit came with an added bonus, we shall be picking up two beautiful cows from his farm in Mitooma next week! ๐๐.. Thank you, Rt. Hon. for your generosity and warm hospitality. ๐
Thank you Chairman for the trust. Congratulations colleagues who have been appointed to the central committee. We are going to work hard and ensure the vision of our leader is fully realized.
@ReachDrMuganga is undermining a legitimate debate by framing it as discrimination against him as a Munyarwanda. That is not the issue. An expired passport does not mean one ceases to be a citizen; a passport is merely a travel document. Many Ugandan citizens do not even hold passports.
The real issue is straightforward: if you acquired Rwandan citizenship while working in Rwanda, Canadian citizenship while in Canada, and later Ugandan citizenship, then simply state the facts as they are. There is nothing inherently wrong with holding multiple citizenships. The question is whether Ugandaโs Constitution and laws permit a person with that citizenship history to hold certain offices, including that of Minister. That is the debateโnot ethnicity.

During the 1st sitting of the 1st meeting of the 1st session of the 12th Parliament, I had the pleasure to nominate the Rt.Hon @Thomas_Tayebwa for the position of Deputy Speaker.
The first sitting of the 12th Parliament will take place on Monday, 25 May 2026 at 10am to elect the Speaker and Deputy Speaker. Here is the Order Paper โฌ๏ธ #PlenaryUg#12thParliamentStarts
Country first, party unity always. Having earlier stated that I would not contest the Speakership should Hon. @Thomas_Tayebwa be endorsed, I respectfully step aside in honor of that commitment and in respect of the party process. I congratulate him on this next step.#PartyUnity.
Those who were saying the former Deputy Speaker of Parliament was corrupt r lying. Whatever Hon. Anita Among did was her own responsibility, and mixing her issues with the Deputy Speaker @Thomas_Tayebwa is wrong because at least Deputy Speaker is known for his social and honest nature. Congratulations to the former Deputy Speaker. Iโm happy that after Parliamentโs vote, you are becoming the current Deputy Speaker again.
Congratulations to Hon. Jacob Oboth Oboth on his endorsement as Speaker & Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa as Deputy Speaker of the 12th Parliament! We thank the Fountain of Honour H.E the President and National Chairman NRM @KagutaMuseveni and our generational leader @mkainerugaba the CDF & Chairman @PatrioticLg_ug for the timely guidance. Wishing you both success ahead of your election next week & Godโs blessings as you steer the 12th Parliament. ๐บ๐ฌ @DaudiKabanda@Thomas_Tayebwa@ObothOboth@NRMOnline@UgEmbassySA@LillianAber
