@bbcsomerset Carol Kirkwood assured us on TV this morning that there would be no hurricane. Last time a BBC weather presenter did that, it didn't work out too well...
@tillathenun I've never used Shell chargers, but I've found BP Pulse chargers very good. In some areas they are the only good chargers for miles around.
@tillathenun If the government is serious about promoting EVs they could increase VAT on petrol and diesel cars and reduce it on EVs. This would mitigate both the higher production cost of EVs and the faster loss of resale value.
@Adam_V3D This isn't always the case. The Duet3D Revo Roto Tool Board has the correct sockets to mate with the motor, heater, thermistor and hot end fan connectors fitted by E3D on the Revo Roto hot end.
@implausibleblog@EllieChowns Well said! We are often told that productivity in the UK has not increased as fast as in other countries. Parliament is the iconic example of an organisation that for decades has ignored technology, stuck to outdated practices, and, as a result failed to increase productivity.
@adrianbowyer I remember that one too! I was 12 at the time. Several years later I got a couple of designs published in PE. The multimeter in this issue was mine.
@adrianbowyer My second computer was a Nascom 2 which I used to sweep the frequency of a laser over a range, measuring its frequency by counting the beat frequency when its output was mixed with the output from a reference laser.
@OctopusEnergy Hey @OctopusEnergy why is the daily average price of the Agile tariff usually much higher than the Tracker tariff? I was going to switch to Agile but even if I shift some consumption from peak to cheaper periods it will usually cost more than Tracker. (Red=Tracker, Green=Agile).
@themitch22 The speed of a delta near the edges of the bed is typically limited by the back emf of the motors, assuming you use a good 32-bit board that can generate the step pulses fast enough. This can be countered by using a higher supply voltage to the drivers if they can handle it.
@gunsnrosesgirl3 Could be all of them, none of them, or anywhere in between. A could be decelerating or parked facing downwards on a hill. B could be parked level, travelling at constant speed etc. Einstein's principle of gravity and acceleration being indistinguishable applies.
@engineers_feed How can you call yourselves World of Engineering when you quote temperatures in degF only? Even my own backward country (UK) has moved to degC. Perhaps you should rename yourselves to Backwater of Engineering?
@MartinSLewis You need Electric as a separate option. I own an EV and love it. The last two cars I hired while abroad on holiday were petrol automatic (I didn't want to have to learn to use gears again as well as driving on the wrong side of the road) and were awful in comparison.
