Disheartening to see our nation disregard fallen heroes' respect. Vandalism won't spark revolution; it deepens fractures.
Let's restore sanity, honor sacrifices, and build a brighter future for Pakistan.
@HassanCSCR I appreciate your analysis of the state which holds some truth, but vandalism/fascism must always be discouraged. If you’re better than them, then you have to act like you’re better than them. 1/4
@HassanCSCR It is also important to recognize that historical context is complex and nuanced. The revolutions in the 20th century led to the deaths of 100s of millions of people, and the people who pushed those revolutions have cemented their names on the dark pages of history. 4/5
@HassanCSCR I am aware that higher ups may be running for their pursuit of power but we can not penalise the entire institution for them. It is paramount that we understand the fact that soldiers who have given their lives for our country do not deserve this treatment. 3/4
@HassanCSCR Destruction of venues and buildings is disrespectful to the people who have fallen protecting us. It is important to honor and respect those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country and their fellow citizens. 2/4
@Shehzad89 You’re right. But letting Imran Khan spout his dangerous ideology to his unwitting supporters could be far more dangerous. The country has survived these “controller” for over 70 years. We will find a better solution. I think condemnation of Khan does take precedence for now.
In this piece, I talk about why #Bangladesh achieved what it did, why #China outpaced #India in industrialisation and why #Pakistan has been unable to advance beyond its pre-industrial phase. Read here @dawn_com
