@girlsurge Abbey Road was released before but Let It Be but recorded after. Get Back covers the the recording of Let It Be so watching that first makes sense.
@dcsandbrook I adapted Dorian Gray for Penguin. It’s remarkable but there are longeurs - luckily for me as I had to shorten it! Plus openly gay - can’t see how it could have been read in any other way.
Roll Over Beethoven - one of the few rock lyrics to merit a place in the songbook. And Chuck an amazing performer - but promoters needed to make sure that brown envelope contained every last cent. If not would walk off, mid song.
@KillVStardust@SovernNation@DeclanHyland They all helped each other - but George did show Ringo how to complete Octopus. He was brilliant at identifying additional elements (guitar breaks etc) that often made a key difference.
@SovernNation@DeclanHyland Plus co-credits, and key contributions to other songs: see here: https://t.co/WYfSxXeHOr George wrote several fine songs but perhaps his inflated in the fall out from the break up. Sinatra (who hated the Beatles) called Something ‘the greatest love song’
@girlsurge I think they just didn’t pay attention to lyrics. It became the centerpiece of the Ringo Spot in their live act but they weren’t consciously trying to make a statement.
@dnarbecurb@BeatlemaniaUK Yes, puzzled by this. The line Paul takes on Man on the Run is that he didn’t realise that she could sing until the post-Beatles period. (and before any cheap gags her voice harmonizes well with Paul’s)
