100% agree.
Had a bad experience where I got randomly debited for fraudulent txns. From a scam website w/o 3DS, no OTP ever requested. Card with me in my hand and just kept getting random debits. They refunded me after I copied CBN cpd sha.
Idk what they're doing there tbh
I think my Providus Bank card has been compromised because I keep getting debited every other day for transactions I can’t even explain. I genuinely thought this bank had its shit together, but somehow every experience I have with them convinces me they might actually be the worst bank in the entire country.
Your lateral thinking is the problem.
You earned $100k last year.
This year, you want to do $120k, even though you could wipe the slate clean and do a million.
The measurement of your performance against a benchmark that amplifies mediocrity.
That is the problem.
You cannot create the impossible by looking up to the possible.
Break down that frame and construct one that has never existed.
Query. First DC. Suspension until you were called back to the office. Several subsequent verbal warnings. Another query. Second DC...
I must say, Zenith Bank is quite patient. Another bank wouldn't have given that much grace.
I also don't know how I feel about publicly posting that you were ‘dismissed’ for misconduct. It could affect future opportunities. It’s obvious no lesson has been learned, everything must yet be content.
Anyways, good luck to everyone involved.
I hear they've stopped the post-dated cheque offer for purchase.
I dont know why - maybe default rose? But is it true?
If so, truly sad that one of the few avenues for consumer credit has been cut off.
Fouani Nig Ltd, this is an appreciation post to you guys. 👏
I bought my first Freezer, Fridge, Television, and Home Theater with my Cheque book to pay on installment for about 6months back in 2013 as a bachelor.
It’s been 13 years and they all still work perfectly till today.
@Oludipe1 Yes but if you pick 4th in a 5 man arrangement, you could have just saved for four months and gotten 80% of the result (probably more with interest😩)
I guess the prospect of picking earlier next cycle makes up for it
This has always been my issue with Ajo.
It makes no sense for anyone beyond the first to third to carry the pot.
And if everyone needs to carry first for it to make sense, who will carry last?
Its a model that makes no sense where access to alternatives exist.
I’ve become a little more open minded about ajo.
It serves a different function. It’s less about capital appreciation but more about advance liquidity.
However, if you’re not first 3 to pack, I still judge you. 🫵🏾
Pack early, lock it in MMF to appreciate, pay the monthly contribution from your business/salary.
@Oludipe1@Letter_to_Jack It must be crazy.
Because to my knowledge, im not even sure they have collateralized loans.
Maybe their business model is to accept ~60% NPL and charge exorbitant interest rates, so the interest they do recover on the ~40% performing loans sustains them
I borrowed 1.2M from OPay to change my phone and get some wigs in 100 level and I deleted the app when the interest was piling up too much and they kept disturbing me to pay back, I installed the app back now and y’all won’t believe how much my loan has become 😭
An important angle.
Some charge effective rates of 200% p.a. Anyone who accepts those high rates is exactly the type of person you shouldn't lend to (because they are either extremely desperate or don't intend to pay back).
So their greed becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
@Oludipe1 100% agree on exploitative interest rates.
Ironically, nobody who is a good credit risk will ever agree to pay such predatory rates. Which means the only people who will take the loans are those who are desperate or who dont intend to pay back.
And so the cycle repeats itself.
