I think calling your work a "Sprint" adds a weird, super stressful feeling to it. Which is one of the many reasons why I deeply dislike Scrum.

@coderoflagos I’m six years in and still need five minutes and a look at stackoverflow to decide whether to use array.slice or array.splice. Is that answer to your satisfaction?

[valerie @essentialcoder]

Thank you to my fellows in #France for voting for #peace. Love you!

Hey, psychotherapists: Insisting on your future patients to call for booking the first appointment and not offering an e-mail or online option is not necessarily making that step any easier for them. Hint: Depressed people are „sometimes“ not really thrilled about phone calls.

Today, after six years as a developer and way more as an Apple user, I learned through a tiny sentence in the @electronjs starter docs, that Apples operating system is not called macOS, but Darwin. Am I feeling stupid now? Slightly. Guess I'll postpone that "senior" title again.

[valerie @essentialcoder]

I‘m not feeling that well, I might not be working tomorrow (or ever again).

@NanouuSymeon Something that makes your MacBook Pro blow up.

German media: Publishing free content about how non-vaccers are the reason for our numbers rising and rising.

Also german media: Hiding content educating about how and if the vaccination works behind a paywall.

With great power comes great responsibility, @spiegelonline.

Opening up instagram: Oh f*** your abs and picture-perfect-lifestyle.
Opening up twitter: Hand me my macbook - I‘mma build an entire SaaS today, buy 15 new stocks and learn ten new things.

Twitter is just a whole different level of motivational 🙏🏼🤩🤸🏽

[valerie @essentialcoder]

Okay, I guess I‘ll try this twitter thing again – I lost track for half a year. How are you doing? I missed you! 😍

@curiousJ777 @quarkswdr Kein Menschenrecht: Restaurantbesuch.

@PlantBasedNews Checking out 80 different supermarkets while on vacation somewhere because they might have some great vegan stuff you can‘t get at home. And then buying it and stuffing your Minibar with it 😅

[valerie @essentialcoder]

"Everybody's suffering right now, it's not just you". I have heard this so often during the pandemic and honestly – that's not comforting, that's making it even worse. It is OKAY if you're feeling down. You should not excuse for it because others suffer even more. You COUNT.

[valerie @essentialcoder]

Can we please allow each other to feel down, even if others might be off even worse? I feel like this "You should be grateful for ABC, others don't even have XYZ" is the main reason for people hiding their bad feelings and not talking about them openly.

@TheThirdRailPod @danker_hank Cars are not assets. If anything burns money faster than anything else it’s cars.

[valerie @essentialcoder]

@GyenAbubakar It gets easier if you realize that everybody has it on a certain level. We're all imposters 😉

[valerie @essentialcoder]

@sarah_bean I never dare to even google or stackoverflow something whenever somebody is around 🙈

@mmm_writes 28 days to make count 😉

[valerie @essentialcoder]

If that's not a good reason to make this month the most perfect of your life so far I don't know what else is.
