As a catechumen it is often frustrating to wrestle with my long-held perception of how the world is. I hold God to my own particular set of standards and get upset when He doesn’t conform.
It’s deeply refreshing to remind myself that my world view is, more often than not, foolish and misleading. The true nature of the world is still yet to be learned, and ultimately is more just, ordered and perfect than I can currently fathom.
Holding a newborn makes the humility of the Incarnation all the more incredible. I forgot just how vulnerable & terrifyingly fragile they are. How much must God Himself have trusted the Blessed Mother to make Himself wholly dependant on her? He couldn’t even lift His divine head!
