This EIP proposes a mechanism to gradually increase the Ethereum block gas limit from 30 million to 60 million over two years, with an automatic deactivation at a specified block height. The goal is to provide a controlled and predictable growth of block capacity to meet increasing network demand while ensuring network stability. The increase is automated, avoiding abrupt changes and allowing the ecosystem to adapt. A deactivation block ensures the increase halts after two years, allowing the community to reassess future needs.
