Shot/chaser. Early days in web3 law. I expect it will be a matter of pride for fed prosecutors to apply existing laws to show that the conduct is old hat, just on new tech. USA Williams: "NFTs might be new, but this type of criminal scheme is not."
It's interesting that progressive antitrust-ers and libertarian web3-ers want the same thing - disintermediation and decentralization - but at least one side is almost completely opposed to the other.
Web2 🤝 Web3
“We think [Twitter] is going to be one of the greatest laboratories that the Web3 industry will ever have access to to start to actually test some of these theories we have — and we thought it was too important to pass up.” - @binance re: Twitter investment.
“Today is only one day in all the days that will ever be. But what will happen in all the other days that ever come can depend on what you do today.” - Ernest Hemingway, on the bear market.
We already see the effect that on-chain data is having on competition for NFT markets. @SBF_FTX proposing the same for Twitter and social networks. Would be interesting to test the role of siloed data vs other features in creating network effects https://t.co/WydxjGKyl3
