My book on holistic education for harmony https://t.co/7twEk3UoBM is now out.
The book offers a novel perspective on the purpose of education and potential practices that can support the vision; potentially of interest to teachers, school leaders, policy makers, and academics.
Brilliant work, @laraibniaz91! Your research with Romanshi Gupta and @nsingal14 on the barriers and opportunities to including girls with disabilities in education was so eye-opening.
Bravo, @kmedha26 for presenting a brilliant overview of your upcoming paper with @nsingal14 on disability representation within Indian primary school textbooks. Your work is so insightful & engaging and it was a pleasure to learn from you at @CaNDER_Research Research Showcase

"...efforts to change gender role attitudes and encourage gender equality cannot just focus on girls."
Thank you for sharing this sentiment in your blog on Syrian refugees' education, @WorldBank.

Education "programming and policies need to engage key gatekeepers – like fathers – to support the empowerment of girls’ mothers as well as girls themselves." But we must also work towards true gender equity by supporting and systemically including gender minorities as well.

It was such a thrill and honor to Chair the Oxford-Cambridge Exchange for the first in-person meet since the pandemic hit two+ years ago. Thank you to everyone who came and made the day such a terrific experience, especially to @fersacambridge@kmedha26 & Nadiah Thanthawi-Jouhari
At bedtime the 8 yo told me his teacher said: “Think of your mind like a pond full of fish and each fish is a feeling. Try to be the pond, not the fish.” And all I can say is primary school has significantly improved.
During lectures, I switched from asking "does anyone have a question before I move on?" to telling "someone ask me a question before I move on" and it is so simple but SUCH a game changer. #AcademicTwitter
Percentage of children able to read a simple story by age 10:
In high-income countries: 9⃣1⃣%
In low-income countries: ~1⃣0⃣%
We can't be okay with this inequality.
Every child deserves an equal opportunity to read, learn, & realise their rights.
