@CalltoActivism I can't verify if his numbers are correct or not, but someone who is fat can weigh the same as someone who is muscular and look very different.
@DvdHam This pool had a summer camp too, where presumably they teach kids to swim. Much better option than the mad race to get kids into indoor winter lessons in Ottawa.
Oooh...there are fences going up right now to fill these gaps. They look like temporary fences, not a permanent solution. But hopefully enough to open the bridge? #ottbike#ottwalk
@Asta_de_B I have lived and travelled a lot in Europe. They have every variation of mixing pedestrians, cyclists and motor vehicles depending on the space available. There are many, many places with marked cycle tracks on a sidewalk.
@wirecrats@ArielTroster@NCC_CCN I walked past Entrance Pool in Bells Corners last weekend and was surprised how little space it took up. Not Olympic size, but there are two pools in a small space. https://t.co/d25zR83bRP
@parent_ontario@NCC_CCN I also feel like the more pools you have, the more lifeguards you get. The pools I hung out at when I was a teen trained more lifeguards than they could absorb as staff.
@parent_ontario@NCC_CCN Personally, I'm not a fan of indoor pools. I enjoy swimming to cool off when it is hot outside, but still like being outdoors. You can use it in the rain, just doesn't have quite the same appeal as a sunny day. π
@ArielTroster@NCC_CCN I feel like that is an obstacle that could be overcome with either soil remediation or doing something to ensure the toxic soil isn't leaching into the pool water. But I'm not an engineer.
