Huge congratulations to Romano Lav for another fantastic International Roma Day celebration. We are very lucky to have so many skilled and dedicated cultural celebrants in our communities and our Roma communities are one of best examples in Scotland.

Congratulations to @HumzaYousaf on his election as the First Minister of Scotland. @ScotGovFM has supported ethnic minority rights across portfolios and we look forward to working with his Government to ensure the human rights focussed progression of the Race Equality Framework
We were delighted to play our part in launching a Hate Crime Strategy for Scotland.
We must ensure Race / Religious minority human rights holders directly inform the delivery strategy + Race equality policies that affect them

This morning @ethnic_network met @UKGovScotland @ScotGovEquality @SocSecScot@PovertyAlliance on mitigating cost of living crisis short, med, long term.
NRPF was raised consistently with a unanimous ambition to integrate all people into our devolved social powers.
@ChristinaSNP
Our pleasure too attend @GDA__online Hate Crime conference today to talk about the Hate Crime Strategy for Scotland consultation. Intersectionality is a key theme to address via any future strategy to tackle prejudice and hate.
It's another busy week....

2/2 Scotland MUST move beyond the national and local government reality that ethnic minority communities are being made to compete against each other for their human rights to be respected and fulfilled. Human Rights and Equalities protections codified in law must be respected.
1/2 'Scottish Mental Health Law Review Final Report' has identified huge gaps between policy and real life. Rights holders are gaslighted by services, undermined, not listened too by Government, Police and key services. Supposed to be protected by Law but ignored in practice
1/2 Inflation crisis presents a significant threat to our members and networks, particularly those with No Recourse to Public Fund. We have written too @ScotGovFM and @UKGovScotland to request urgent engagement with @ethnic_network on 22/09 at our next national meeting.
2/2 If you would like to attend please DM us.
Previous meeting information is available here - https://t.co/OAikIFNyUZ
The resilience network is a collaboration of EM communities working together to advocate for positive change in Race Equality in Scotland @ScotGovEquality
1/2 Resilience network will meet again on the 22nd of September to asses the needs and response to the cost of living crisis that is affecting our communities.
Given the overlap of devolved and reserved powers we have invited @ScotGovFM and @UKGovScotland officials to engage
2/2 BEMIS / @ethnic_network full report can be accessed here - https://t.co/RYZxiRD9uz
Was acknowledged by attendees that the energy price cap increase and inflation present huge challenges.
The EMNRN will meet again on 22/09/22 on zoom to focus on our response. DM to attend.
We are proud to stand in solidarity with 125 Scottish Civic Society orgs to say NO to the #RightsRemovalBill - There is no justification for this significant regression in rights protection @Douglas4Moray@ScotSecofState@NicolaSturgeon
