Privacy needs to be part of these systems' design, not just their security policies.

[Web3 Foundation @Web3foundation]

Different organisations. Different systems. Different failures, but one question connects them all:

Why do we continue building systems where so much personal information can be collected, accessed and exposed without meaningful control by the people it belongs to?

Privacy needs to be part of these systems' design, not just their security policies.

[Status @ethstatus]

YOU CANNOT HAVE FREE SPEECH WITHOUT ANONYMOUS SPEECH.

[Nym @nym]

ANONYMITY IS NOT A CRIME

[Status @ethstatus]

@cz_binance No technology can promise absolute security

The better question is how much control users have!

Who holds your keys?
Who can access your conversations?
Who collects your data?
Who decides what stays private?

You can’t eliminate every risk. You can reduce unnecessary ones.

⚠️Important update for Status users with assets on Blast.

Blast is winding down its network on October 26, 2026, according to its official announcement on X.

As a result, Blast will no longer be supported in Status starting with the next release (v2.40).

The Blast team, in their announcement, recommends withdrawing assets to Ethereum Mainnet before October 26, 2026, while the standard withdrawal interface is still available.

According to Blast, withdrawals after this date will require interacting directly with its bridge contracts on Ethereum.

[Blast @blast]

Blast will be shutting down.

We launched Blast with the goal of building a self-sustaining chain for users and developers. Unfortunately, the economics of operating the chain no longer make sense: the ongoing costs of maintaining Blast exceed the revenue generated by the L2, and we do not see a credible path to making the chain economically sustainable.

As a result, we've made the difficult decision to wind Blast down.

We're sorry to the users and developers who believed in Blast, built on it, and supported the ecosystem. Our priority now is making the shutdown as smooth and safe as possible.

We're asking all users to withdraw their assets from Blast to Ethereum mainnet, including any balances held in the Blast PWA.

To make this easier, we will be reducing the withdrawal delay to 24 hours.

As part of the shutdown process, we'll first begin withdrawing Blast's Lido assets. This process is expected to take approximately one week. During this period, withdrawals will temporarily be unavailable, even after the withdrawal delay is reduced to 24 hours.

Once that process is complete, withdrawals will resume with the new 24-hour delay.

Users will have until October 26, 2026 to withdraw through the normal Blast interface.

After October 26, assets will remain withdrawable, but users will need to interact directly with the Blast bridge contracts on Ethereum L1. We'll publish detailed instructions before then.

We strongly encourage everyone to withdraw their assets to Ethereum mainnet before October 26.

You can own your account, your keys, and your social graph.

But what happens when the app you use changes the rules overnight?

The Farcaster controversy is raising an important question for decentralized social platforms:

Who actually controls your ability to communicate?

Because decentralization should mean more than just owning your identity.

[𝕸𝖆𝖝 𝕵𝖆𝖈𝖐𝖘𝖔𝖓 @mxjxn]

farcaster sold to network school and they *instantly* terminated my access for having said mean things to bots

[Keycard Shell @Keycard_]

if there’s an extra component inside your hardware wallet, what reference do you have to spot it?

with Keycard Shell, you have a published reference for what should be inside

Firmware. Circuit schematics. PCB layouts. Component lists. Case designs.

here’s the hardware behind it:

• main board with STM32H573 (ARM Cortex-M33) microcontroller (PSA Level 3 / SESIP3 certified)
• 240×320 TFT IPS color LCD screen
• heavy-duty silicone keypad (numeric + OK/C)
• ISO 7816 smartcard reader module (contact only)
• CMOS global-shutter camera for QR codes
• replaceable Nokia BL-4C 800 mAh battery
• clear ABS case, with public 3D design files so you can print your own

the clear case lets you see parts of the board without taking the device apart

the back cover slides off without tools to access and replace the battery

[Status @ethstatus]

You spend so much of your time online. But how much of it do you actually control?

your conversations, your connections, your browsing activity are all controlled app

that's what Status is building a decentralized, privacy-first app where you can communicate, connect, and explore the web on your own terms.

and Status 2.39 makes that experience even better

→ more reliable messaging across communities
→ Incognito browsing on mobile
→ more control over your browsing data
→ now available in French, Czech & Ukrainian, alongside English, Spanish, and other languages.
→ smoother navigation and everyday improvements

your digital life deserves more privacy, freedom, and control.

The irony of a Discord “protection” bot exposing the very data it collected to protect users.

Double Counter collected user IDs, usernames, IP addresses and location data to catch alt accounts.

Now millions of those records are reportedly exposed.

You can’t leak data you never collected.

[Discord Support @discord_support]

We're aware of a security incident involving Double Counter, a third-party bot developer. We've confirmed Discord's systems were not breached.

We are preventing new server installs of Double Counter's app while we investigate the incident. We're working closely with Double Counter and will take further actions as appropriate to protect our users.

Privacy isn’t about hiding.
It’s about choice.
It’s about dignity.

It’s about deciding for ourselves who gets access to our data, and under what circumstances.
