Pleased to see @IFC_org joining forces with @Googleorg to help smallholder farmers in six countries access agricultural advice, financing and insurance through a single digital platform.

Smallholder farmers are vital to food security and rural livelihoods, yet too many lack the tools and resources they need to thrive. This initiative will help advance #AgriConnect’s goal of creating jobs and boosting food security.

#WBGMeetings

Mobilizing private capital at scale requires the right platforms.

Today at the #WBGMeetings, we welcomed Luxembourg as the latest donor to @IFC_org’s Sustainable and Resilient Finance Program (SuRF), joining Switzerland.

This blended finance initiative aims to mobilize $30 billion across more than 10 countries by connecting global investors with emerging markets through sustainable bonds and loans.

Great to meet with Finance Minister @RothGilles and strengthen our collaboration to bring more private investment where it is needed most.

[Makhtar Diop @Diop_IFC]

A pleasure to meet @Kirstyjmcneill, the UK’s Minister for International Development, for the first time.

We discussed our strong collaboration to mobilize private capital and the UK’s priorities ahead of its G20 presidency next year.

Through a new financial hub, the @WorldBankGroup and the UK are scaling up our originate-to-distribute approach to channel more private investment into emerging markets, especially the most fragile.

[Makhtar Diop @Diop_IFC]

Meeting emerging markets’ infrastructure needs requires stronger partnerships between DFIs.

Always a pleasure to exchange with @AIIB_official President Jiayi Zou on advancing energy transmission and the digital economy, local currency financing, and risk-sharing solutions to mobilize more private capital and create jobs in Asia and beyond. #WBGMeetings

Today, the @WorldBankGroup launched its 2030 MSME Strategy to help these businesses become more visible, better connected, and better financed.

Listen to President Ajay Banga explain why supporting small businesses is critical to creating more and better jobs in emerging markets.

Good discussion with @MthuliNcube, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Finance, at the #WBGMeetings.

We took stock of the country’s improving macroeconomic conditions and discussed how @IFC_org can support Zimbabwe’s development priorities by attracting more private investment in energy, agriculture, tourism, and regional trade corridors.
