These were the photos from the ad campaign that actually sparked the accusations of White Supremacy.
It's the photo on the left that people were mad about.
BREAKING: The International Language Academy of Canada, one of Canada’s largest international colleges and diploma mills targeting Indian international students, has filed for bankruptcy and has been permanently shut down.
ILAC partnered with Canadian colleges to create satellite campuses to profit off of Canada’s international student system.
I’ve done many historic acts on the Sunshine Coast that have changed laws.
I moved from Vancouver to organize my cannabis revolution to the Sunshine Coast in Spring 1998. The Mayor of Vancouver had announced to media that police and his office would do everything they could to force me and my budding Revolution out of Vancouver.
All my Cannabis Culture and Marc Emery Seeds staff moved out here at the same time so we could work together. Michelle Rainey lived in Sechelt and she joined our organization as my executive assistant.
Cannabis Culture was our pioneering magazine about marijuana. Magazines about marijuana were illegal until I sponsored the court case that overturned that law in July 1994.
While on the Sunshine Coast, as a millennium project, in January 1, 2000 we began construction of a studio to webcast the world’s first video cannabis site https://t.co/qKQqcjsTu3. At that time it was theoretical. Most people did not have enough bandwidth in their homes to receive a video stream in the early months of 2000. And I discovered that the Coast did not have fiber-optic web service until June 1, 2000. So we started audio only webcasts beginning April 20, 2000, and our first video live streams (and archive) began June 3, 2000.
Flash media did not become a thing until 2006, and before that streaming video was expensive. I spent just over $1,000,000 from 2000 to 2006 on https://t.co/qKQqcjsTu3, and it never could be monetized in those days, although an important caveat there is that all https://t.co/qKQqcjsTu3 shows carried an ad for Marc Emery Seeds. It was the seed biz that paid the massive losses for https://t.co/qKQqcjsTu3.
https://t.co/qKQqcjsTu3 is still going after 26 years. Cannabis Culture ceased publication in 2009 after 78 issues over 15 years, because I was going to prison in the US for my seed sales, and the magazine lost $10,000 an issue, not something I wanted to saddle Jodie with while I was in the US prison system.
A historic meeting occurred in January 2001 at my home in Bonniebrook in Gibsons. We hatched an idea to run in the May 2001 BC provincial election. In the space of three months we rounded up 79 candidates -a full slate with candidates in every BC riding- to contest the election as the British Columbia Marijuana Party. We received 55,000 votes, 3.2% of the vote. We even were able to rent to US President Richard Nixon’s campaign bus for our campaign. Our party leader for the election was Grand Forks Mayor Brian Taylor and he toured the province in the campaign bus.
Perhaps the most important project on the Coast was from 2002 to 2004, a drug addiction clinic that cured opiate, cocaine, methamphetamine addiction using a rare and then almost unknown African plant extract called Iboga or Ibogaine hydrochloride.
Iboga Therapy House was its name, and every 2 weeks I had a patient from places across North America come for 4 days to 14 days and I would dose them with one gram of Ibogaine hydrochloride. This stopped drug craving and drug withdrawal immediately, and caused mild hallucinations. The time under the extract could be 12 hours to as long as 72 hours, but generally around 24 hours.
For those two years, these treatments were paid for entirely by me ($225,000 cost to me) through the profits of my seed business.
I worked with the founder of Ibogaine treatment Howard Lotsof in New York City.
In those two years, I treated 65 individuals for addiction to heroin, morphine, cocaine, methamphetamine. The most important aspect to drug addiction I discovered was of 65 patients, 59 did not have their biological father in their life for all or part of their childhood.
This all took place in Tuwanek on east Porpoise Bay. Now Ibogaine treatments are performed in various parts of the world (for $10,000 a treatment on average.)
