President Isaias Afwerki met, at the Denden Guest House in the late afternoon hours today, Saudi delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Engineer Waleed Bin Abdulkarim al-Khereiji.
President Isaias underlined the importance of further consolidating the historical bilateral ties of friendship and cooperation between Eritrea and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the cultivation of shared and aligned views and positions on vital regional and international issues.
The two sides discussed, in greater depth, the role of the littoral States of the Red Sea in guaranteeing the peace and security of the region against the backdrop of fluid regional and international developments and trends.
In this context, the two sides decided to expedite the concrete implementation of cooperation agreements in the political, economic, security, cultural and social sectors previously reached between Eritrea and Saudi Arabia.
The Sudanese Eritrean Relations: A Firm Partnership Beyond Geography, Rooted in Shared Destiny
(by Mr. Osman Ahmed Abdul Bari; Ambassador of the Republic of the Sudan to Eritrea)
*"...The Relations between the Republic of the Sudan and the State of Eritrea represent an advanced model of bilateral relations in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea regions. Their roots run deep in history, and their dimensions intersect politically, securely, economically, and socially, making them strategic relations based on mutual trust, good neighborliness, and a set of intertwined interests and a shared destiny".
*"...The Sudanese –Eritrean partnership represents a strategic cornerstone for reshaping the equations of stability in the region and a model of cooperation that seeks to manage crisis from within the region itself, transforming them into a strategic asset that serves regional stability and the interests of its peoples".

Good Read - #Eritrea: Living Symbols of a Resilient, Patient, Richly Diverse Nation; by Bana Negusse
*"...In the Horn of Africa, Eritrea, with its diverse landscapes – from deserts and mountains to rugged hills and pristine seas – carries a rich tapestry of wildlife, each species offering a lens into the nation’s character. These animals are more than just inhabitants of the land and waters; they are living symbols of Eritrea’s resilience, patience, diversity, and abundance, embodying the stories, struggles, and strengths of its people".
*"...At the forefront of these symbolic creatures is the camel, prominently featured on Eritrea’s national emblem and even on its currency, the Nakfa. Camels are remarkable animals, embodying resilience, endurance, and adaptability – qualities honed by their ability to survive in harsh desert environments where few others can. In Eritrea, camels played a critical role during the long struggle for independence, transporting fighters, supplies, and resources across treacherous landscapes. They mirror the Eritrean people’s resilience and capacity to adapt to ever-changing challenges".
*"...Their unwavering focus is captured in the famous Eritrean proverb: “The camel marches while the dogs bark,” a saying that resonates given the persistent media attacks and external rhetoric the nation has faced and continues to confront. Even today, camels powerfully symbolize the country’s steadfast endurance through unjust sanctions, external pressures, and environmental and climate challenges".
*"...Eritrea’s natural diversity extends to its seas. With an extensive Red Sea coastline that is one of the longest in Africa, the country’s waters surrounding hundreds of islands host over 1,100 fish species and 44 genera of hard coral, creating one of the highest levels of marine species diversity and endemism recorded anywhere. Around 18 percent of fish species and 20 percent of coral species are endemic to these waters. This rich marine life mirrors Eritrea’s broader abundance of resources and potential, from minerals and landscapes to perhaps its most treasured asset: its people".
*"...Together, Eritrea’s symbolic animals reveal a nation defined by resilience, patience, diversity, and abundance. They offer more than reflection – they provide perspective, showing how enduring values and collective strength shape a country’s identity and potential. Beyond their individual traits, these creatures collectively mirror Eritrea’s cultural identity and historical experience, from the endurance of camels to the freedom of birds and gazelles. In this way, the story of wildlife becomes inseparable from the story of the nation itself".

The Man Who Broke the Script
How Gedu Andargachew’s Testimony Exposes the Architecture of Deception at Arat Kilo

Former Ethiopian Deputy PM & ex-Foreign Minister Gedu Andargachew has publicly rebutted PM Abiy Ahmed's February 3, 2026, parliamentary speech in a detailed open letter (dated February 5, 2026), calling key claims "entirely false" and a "complete fabrication."
https://t.co/92S1s5PnhJ...
In a three-page letter released to the media today, Gedu Andargachew responded to the Prime Minister’s recent testimony before the House of Representatives, stating, “What the Prime Minister said about me is false.”
Seeking to provide “the truth from [his] side,” Gedu detailed a message he received from Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in early January 2021 (2013 EC) to deliver to President Isaias Afwerki. According to Gedu, the message focused on three primary objectives:
Recognition of Victory: Conveying congratulations to President Isaias on the success of their joint military operations against the TPLF (Woyane).
Expression of Gratitude: Thanking the Eritrean government and its people for their "brotherly support"—specifically for sheltering the Northern Command during the initial attacks and assisting in the preparations for a counteroffensive.
Diplomatic Strategy: Emphasizing the need for mutual caution regarding "smear campaigns" launched by international organizations and foreign media. These reports, which detailed human rights violations, were viewed by the administration as attempts by TPLF supporters to destabilize relations between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
#AbiyAhmed, the liar-in-chief of #Ethiopia told his parliment this week he sent his then minister Andargachew to Eritrea to confront Eritrean officials about EDF. Today that minister says he he was sent to Eritrea to praise not confront . Is there Noble Prize for Lying?
The loss of a pioneering researcher and historian is a profound loss to #Eritrea and #Africa. Yet, Professor Asmerom Legesse leaves behind a legacy that generations will remember with pride. May he rest in peace.
#Eritrea - Congrats to all!
Stellar performance by Biniam Girmay at the Opening Stage of Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana. Hopefully a harbinger of more victories ahead.
Rest in peace, Professor Asmerom Leggese; a profound and powerful political figure in #Eritrea & #Ethiopia. His passing will bring the light of an unshakable contribution of Eritreans for Ethiopia. Even though, the current #Oromo leadership in Ethiopia slander Eritrea and its contribution to the cause of the people of Oromo, Professor Asmerom Leggese glorified ‘‘ገዳ‘‘ system to the world. RIP
