@GeisingerVasc I love working closely with our fellows! They are all so knowledgeable and willing to teach. They are all awesome to scrub with and set up the anastomosis to let me help sew 😎
Christmas is my yearly reminder that my family has absolutely no idea what I do as a surgical resident 😅
- “So are you a doctor yet?” (Yes) “Oh really?! For how long?” (4.5 years)
- “What’s your schedule like? 3 days on/4 days off?” (No)
- “So do you actually do surgery?” (🤷♀️)
@kelseyum2plus Sooo many faculty mentors are well meaning but very out of touch with the current culture. Some simply do not know an integrated pathway exists! Forget about it and shine bright on your rotation!! Congrats!

@kelseyum2plus@jessechait@action_ap Be undeniable. You’re the only person who knows what kind of hand you have to play.. don’t let anyone else take cards out of the deck.
In light of the recent article published by @nytimes, the SVS has worked with SVS President, Dr. Joseph Mills (@jmills1955) to publish a response. All are invited and encouraged to read the response linked below. @propublica

@aly_skoczek “I am interested in x field for y reason. I am looking to get a strong letter of recommendation from you. I feel it would be especially meaningful based on your z credentials”
Good to put it on their radar early so they can observe you closely!
