@SamQuinnCBS The aprons need to be re-negotiated, not these stipulations that acquiesce to the aprons while skewing the playing field and strategy within
@noodlescod@TPhaneuf@NBA_NewYork It’s unfortunate that Boston constructed a team based on the old CBA and their window got chopped off due to the change. They did get worse and in general seem to be scrambling a bit to figure this out on the fly but if I was a Boston fan I’d still be optimistic going forward
@Dame_00161@MichaelLop82274@NBA_NewYork For the record, I agree with you guys. Bostons core got busted up because of these ridiculous 2nd apron stipulations like draft pick freezing, not because they didn’t get a discount on their stars. These debated stipulations that acquiesce to the aprons isn’t it, let teams spend
@rkymtnhi78@noodlescod@NBA_NewYork OKC is at that point right now and have been appropriately pruning the roster around their core. I agree something needs to be done, but this max contract argument isn’t it. The CBA needs to be torn up, not more stipulations like this to acquiesce to the aprons
@samborghiniz@NBA_NewYork My original comment is more tongue in cheek at Brad. The real argument needs to be the CBA itself and the existence of the 2nd apron to begin with, not this max contract debate. Owners were allowed to negotiate what is pretty much a hard cap and got away with it
@noodlescod@NBA_NewYork OKC isn’t bitching, they are actively figuring it out and have aced margin moves. When you have star players you have to win margins that’s it, not get a discount to make your life easier. Celtics went in on an aging expensive core, won, and blew it up. That’s how it goes
@samborghiniz@NBA_NewYork Every team has the same assets to work with. The advantage of drafting and having a 35% max player, is having a 35% max player. You should not then be able to double up and also get a discount for that player.
@NBA_NewYork@RealBobManning Owners negotiating these CBA stipulations they can now hide behind and lie to our face about Iike they never had a choice lol
@seanston42@JediiKnicks Exactly. Demar wants to hoop. He’s not taking a bench role, not taking a minimum. He will probably end up going home to the clippers or something for the mid level and get 30 minutes a night
