And I also have to thank YOU for your collaboration, leaks and insider information;-)
Now go get some beers and celebrate the #EuroSim22 successes you have achieved today for a strong European Union.
See you!
#EuroSim22 is over!
The negotiations were tough, everyone fought for the best result for their member state, lots of compromises were reached and EuCo agreed on a joint statement.
However, the Comission's proposal was rejected. What an end!
Thank you for all your commitment!
Awarded as best #EuroSim22 students in each standard format meeting were:
Eduard Heger (EuCo), Martin Kokk (COMPET), Bernd Lange (INTA), Anna Cavazzini (IMCO) and Deirdre Clune (IMCO)
Congratulations!!!
'Croatia feels disappointed with the head of the states about their negligence of the Western Balkans'
Croatia doesn't appreciate the transatlantic statement of #EuroSim EuCo.

The conclusion of #EuroSim22 EuCo represents a compromise between the countries that would have liked to take a clear position on human rights violations and those countries that did not want to jeopardise their economic relations with China.
Full Statement on the blog.
Estonian ambassador to the EU, Marten Kokk:
โCOMPET is in a standstill. Germany is voting against a lot of proposals, whereas other member states are abstaining. We need to be more constructive and work together with the Parliament.โ
Will the proposal be passed?

Finland proposed in #Eurosim22 EuCo to add the following sentence at the end of the statement on China:
'The People of Europe stand in solidarity with the Uyghurs.'
Unanimous consent of the other countries.
BREAKING NEW: Compensation agreed on. Will be given on a case to case basis. A dispositive regarding possible compensation has been added to the regulation on the initiative of Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia and Luxembourg!!
HISTORIC.
#EuroSim22
Mette Frederiksen (๐ฉ๐ฐ) gives their support to the proposal of Spain and Slovakia: 'It's a good balance between calling out China and still paying attention to our economic interests.'
#EuroSim22
Spain and Slovakia insist on an international approach towards China. Luxembourg doubts that this will happen and therefore considers the statement meaningless.
Finland insists on a section on solidarity with the Uyghurs.
#EuroSim22
In contrast, Spain and Slovakia's proposal, which still includes China as 'a strong economic partner ...and an important diplomatic colleague'.
Some other countries will not appreciate this.
