Her version is by far the best English version produced the past 100 years. It is a great translation, not "woke" at all and something that was sorely needed to allow international people to read Homer as all the previous english translations were absolutely awful in their attempts to archaise english, they just entangled the sentences and turned them into paragaraphs.

I have read several neo-Hellenic translations that are worse than hers.

Then Minoan fresco is absolutely fine as a cover and very relevant indeed as Odysseus calls himself a "Cretan who went to Egypt".
