The documentary and Heeseung’s interviews tell a simple truth: the group and his solo ambitions could no longer coexist.
The dreams of the other six members matter just as much, and Heeseung made it clear he didn’t want to hold them back.
He said he had so much he wanted to show but didn’t want to prioritise his own ambitions over the team. He didn’t demand a solo debut. He shared his work with the company, spent a long time discussing the best path forward, and ultimately agreed with the direction the company proposed.
Artists are human. Sometimes they feel constrained and choose different paths, and that’s okay. It's not selfish.
As fans, let's be kinder to the artists and each other.
(his letter and interview below)
idk what y'all are even trying to say about this, i honestly don't care if they're finally admitting they're six, my issue has always been the hypocrisy
if mentioning heeseung's name was supposedly so disturbing that it affected their performance, then they should also stop replying to and interacting with users who have heeseung's name in their usernames, at the very least they should show the same respect they're constantly asking others to show them
you can't claim that hearing his name is a problem one day, then turn around and interact with accounts carrying his name the next, all that does is create more discussion around him and draw even more attention to the situation
if they want people to respect them as six, then they should also respect the person who was once part of that group, because when his name is considered "disturbing" in one context but completely acceptable in another, that's not consistency, that's hypocrisy
and i'm sorrybut that kind of behavior comes across as manipulative toward their own fans
