PhD candidate at @nau_ses working with Dr. Laura Wasylenki and having a blast
Talk to me about metal isotope geochemistry and JEDI in geoscience
she/her/hers
SES's Dr Laura Wasylenki and newly minted Dr. Eva Baransky presented matching posters on controls the amount of nickel in the oceans at the recent Goldschmidt conference (planned) and wore nearly matching dresses (unplanned!).
METAL and @SESEASU are looking to hire a postdoc! Experience in transition metal stable isotopes, clean lab, and marine geochemistry are a plus. Includes opportunity to develop an extramurally funded research program.

Changes in the concentration of nickel in the oceans has influenced Earth’s evolution at key times, but the factors controlling the concentration of nickel in seawater are unknown. This paper by Prof Wasylenki, @EvaBaransky et al represents a step forward! https://t.co/F0mM3xJfyp
Dean Estella Atekwana @atekwanae will be the next visitor in our speaker series "Inclusive Excellence in STEM: Who's Walking the Walk?" We're so excited to welcome her to campus on April 2 and 3 - don't miss her visit!
I'm excited to announce that Dr. Karletta Chief
@nativehydro
is our next speaker in our speaker series "Inclusive Excellence in STEM: Who's Walking the Walk?"

I am so proud of helping coordinate this event (and many others that day) with the amazing @jkwillenbring! Open to all NAU members so please join us tomorrow!
I'm very excited to announce a new speaker series I'm helping organize titled DEI in STEM: Who's walking the walk? Our first speaker is next week! If you're a member of the @NAU community, see the attached flyer. Email me at [email protected] with any questions. @NAUResearch
Are you talking about anti-racism in your workplace? Do you have a DEI committee working together on developing policies?
Give this a read to hear what Geoscientists of Color and existing theories of collaboration have to say about doing that well!
