@_SpottheBall_RR@yaboyroth17 I went to 09 Car Care bowl, 02 Tire Bowl, 03 Gator Bowl, 05 Sugar, and 11 Orange. The last 2 were markedly different than others. ESPN definitely ruined it all, from increasing bowls to the joke of a CFP system. All built on backs of players who until recently didn’t get a cut
@yaboyroth17@_SpottheBall_RR Perhaps the bowl system was ruined when there came to be so many, when bowls became less about celebrating a successful team and more of a race for 6-6 mediocrity just so there was one extra game. It used to be that a conference championship was make or break for getting a bowl
@_SpottheBall_RR Not sure I’m seeing that. College sports is just an unserious industry. I love WVU, will root for WVU and hope they do well, but the industry as a whole is ruined
@franklincaudle9@shorthaireddawg@scottkull Students having to buy tickets is crazy. I was a sophomore in ‘08 when Davidson and Steph Curry came to town, and students still were admitted with an ID. Why are they making students pay for tickets?
@bigeps Brother, do not conflate Marshall’s problems with wider college football issues. Marshall’s sports administration, including the AD and Big Green, are the culpable parties for running off the coach who delivered the conference championship and D’Antoni as bball coach
