I'm almost entirely (95%?) off Twitter for the last year. Strong recommend for general mental well being; screaming matches with the void are bad for you.
I do miss some of you though! Keep on screaming the good scream?
Signs on the Minuteman Bikeway to donate so it can be plowed in the winter. A worthy goal.
Weirdly, I didn't see any signs on adjacent roads soliciting donations for winter road plowing?
New blog post, inspired by @s8mb: products I recommend you buy. Starting with an ode to the Breville Control Freak (currently on sale at @chefsteps) then a rapid fire list of other products. https://t.co/nhx9Chkloa
@Alby ?? Yes, all the joules come from the rider pedaling, but on a normal bike a lot of joules go rider => kinetic energy => heat wasted in braking. Here rider => kinetic => capacitor => kinetic => [repeat w/ loss] The bike doesn't generate energy, it just helps you waste less, right?
@Alby I'm skeptical this is a good ride, but...ELI5 why it's thermodynamically impossible? Capacitors are real, capturing energy from regenerative braking is real, what am I missing?
https://t.co/Hls4N6yDYd This combination of shortsighted selfishness is fucking depressing. If these people have children or grandchildren, they should be embarrassed to look them in the eye.
@TWallack@MBTA I like to consider myself a reasonable guy, usually, but I subscribe to every possible conspiracy theory about MBTA escalator repair people and incentives to not repair them too fast or too well
Mixed night overall for Cambridge elections but great to see @realBurhanAzeem and @Marc_C_McGovern strong performances and a delight to say welcome back to @VoteJivan
Seems like we retain slim majorities for housing and safe shared streets?
@realBurhanAzeem First they came for the parking minimums, and I said "wow, really nice" because I was not a car
Then they came for zoning and I said "absolutely incredible go get it king"
"I am 88 years old and handicapped with Parkinson's disease. Riding my tricycle (Trike) on Saturdays and
Sundays on Memorial Drive is one of the few forms of exercise I can enjoy, and it makes a huge difference in
my health, strength, well-being, and even my self esteem"
