Many people have asked why I didn’t choose Roman Catholicism when I left Protestantism.

Here’s the honest truth, both sides have really good arguments. There is no killshot argument on either side. Not regarding the Papacy nor the filioque.

I believe what “breaks the tie” is that even even Roman Catholics admit there are developments in their paradigm, and they grant Orthodoxy has upheld these ancient practices.

Paedocommunion, leavened bread Eucharist, Divine Liturgy, iconography rather than statues, Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed, traditional Pentarchy, etc.

Even Vatican I, when argued by the best apologists, is argued as a development.

If it’s the church of Apostolic tradition you want, Orthodoxy is the clear frontrunner.

I struggled with this belief for years but in time, I couldn’t reconcile it with Church history

Turns out, the exact opposite is true—Protestant denominations have thrown out apostolic tradition, only getting more extreme with each denomination as time moves forward, repeating heresies (picking and choosing) because it has forgotten that the Church has roots in apostolic tradition

“Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.” 2 Thess 2:15

The Church gave us the Bible as part of that tradition—The Bible didn’t give us the church

That was the hardest thing for me to grok, but once I did, it was only a matter of time before the dominoes fell and I came home to the Orthodox Church.

As a journalist, Dereje should have posed more insightful questions, being aware that certain factions of Oromo politics exploit those who advocate for citizen-based politics.
Dereje neglected to address Jawar's genocidal actions or the core objectives of his political party. There was no question of the demolitions of innocent Amharas & other house around Addis. No inquiry into why some people are treated as if they are fourth-level citizens in their own country. Do the Oromo politics believes in the nation, Ethiopia- or are they still saying we are a sum of nation?
It’s puzzling why ethno-nationalist like Jawar received preferential treatment from the channel.
This’s the same man who vehemently declared, "Ethiopia out of Oromo." Which Oromia was he referring to? Did the journalist delve into Oromo immigration? The channel's irresponsible actions contribute to worsening conditions for ordinary citizens.
Dereje and Arts TV could rectify this by providing equal opportunities for others to counter the statements of the known genocider, Jawar Mohammed. @TheFitawrari @HoMan99 @berhanenega @olSkulEthio

May God have mercy on me. The hate and resentment I feel towards Protestants scare me. I find myself unable to be the same with my Protestant family and friends. I wish I had less exposure to church affairs. Behind every stone thrown at the Orthodox Church, there is a Protestant.
