He might have made the announcement without their knowledge. But it definitely seems likely that leaders knew.

@thisisfoster @GraceMosaic The Catholic school that hired him to do youth ministry and teach music posted a picture of him in their swag announcing him in that role on the 27th of August. The wheels to go there, setup classrooms, etc. would have to have been in motion well prior.
