Canadian registered charities are held to exceptionally high standards. They often operate with limited resources and small teams, driven by a deep commitment to their causes and to improving the lives of Canadians.
That’s why it is deeply troubling to learn that the federal cabinet considered plans to censor charities — even going so far as to contemplate revoking their charitable status for making statements the government might deem “false or misleading.”
