Norman Greenhalgh - a Boltonian who became Everton skipper.
The tough-tackling left-back, who had the nickname Rollicker, won the league in 1939 & became club captain in 1946. Later Mine Host at the Winslow. He was born on 10 August 1914.

41 years ago, on 10 August 1985, reigning Football League champions Everton beat Manchester United 2-0 in the Charity Shield match.
Gary Lineker made his Toffees debut and Adrian Heath scored on his welcome return from injury.
