This new Nature paper suggests that humans lived in what is now Mexico between 20,000 and 30,000 years ago, overturning conventional wisdom that our species crossed over from Siberia about 15,000 years ago.
That would be big news in human evolution!

@davestewart4444@callmecheftim@Evolutionistrue @JohnDiesattheEn Ok. I agree, but that is not half of his theory of evolution. In fact, subsequent editions of Origin show only minor revisions.
@callmecheftim@Evolutionistrue @JohnDiesattheEn All scientific facts are amenable. That is why we have progress. Ex. Newtonian physics is a fact but it had to be amended because of einstein's theory of relativity.
@callmecheftim@Evolutionistrue @JohnDiesattheEn No such thing as proof in science. Just evidence. Scientific facts are amenable to new evidence. Therfore they have nothing to do with dogma. Scientific theories are rigorous because they are supported by copious amounts of evidence.
Even today, nearly a century after the Scopes trial, 40% of Americans are young-earth creationists and 33% think God helped drive evolution, making 73% who see a divine hand in evolution. Only 1 in 5 accepts the naturalistic view we teach in class. 2/2.
